    The University of Minnesota's Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is seeking an Outpatient Psychiatry Physician for a clinical track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. 0.10 FTE (equivalent to 4 hours per week) of Academic activities, including publishing, research, mentoring, quality improvement projects, and other scholarly duties (meetings, grand rounds, committees, etc.). 0.9 (equivalent to 36 hours per week) clinical FTE will provide outpatient clinic patient care. This work will be a combination of supervising residents and medical students, with individual care delivery and program building. Role Description: Provide professional psychiatric adult outpatient services for the M Physicians St. Louis Park Clinic Interventional Psychiatry Program in St. Louis Park, MN. Perform evaluations and treatment of patients with Treatment Resistant Depression (TRD) including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS), ketamine and psychedelics. Work with the outpatient team and clinical leadership to provide evidence-based outpatient services. Work collaboratively with leadership to achieve the missions of clinical, education, and research. Partner with administrative leadership to maintain and constantly improve high-quality, patient-centered care and expand interventional psychiatry services at the University of Minnesota. Lead by example and engage learners and staff in creating a positive work environment that values excellence and teamwork and continually strives to exceed patient and family expectations. This is a unique opportunity to combine delivery of care with education on effective outcomes and development of care delivery systems in a nationally recognized premier interventional psychiatry clinical and research service. The faculty member in this role will exercise creativity in clinical care and clinical programming, will teach and supervise outstanding trainees, including Neuromodulation Medicine fellows, and will have the opportunity for involvement in research. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited ACGME Psychiatry training program. Demonstrated knowledge and training in clinical interventional psychiatry. Board eligible/certified with the ABMS. Licensed or ability to obtain a medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges. Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of the VISA category while in the United States The Ideal Candidate: Has previous experience and expertise in working with treatment-resistant depression, anxiety disorders, and management in the delivery of care.     Under direction of the Physician Assistant Trainer and Supervisor and Clinic Medical Director, the Physician Assistant (PA) will provide dermatologic care and education to patients with a variety of skin conditions. The PA will perform physical exams, diagnose skin conditions and will develop treatment plans, provide health counseling, prescribe medication, and may perform minor surgery, including, but not limited to, removal of skin tags, cysts, benign tumors, actinic keratosis, malignant skin tumors, laser surgery, laser treatment procedures (for example, excimer laser for psoriasis). The PA will perform biopsies and simple to complex excisions, and may assist in major medical procedures such a Mohs, laser or cosmetic procedures. The PA will see both new and follow-up patients as assigned by the Clinic Medical Director and Physician Assistant Trainer and Supervisor. Other duties include ordering medications, lab work, imaging, and other requirements of appropriate dermatologic care, reviewing progress of patients, attending and participating in staff conferences to discuss the surgical and medical conditions of patients. He/she may also be asked to draft referral letters to outside physicians and request for insurance companies for pre-authorization for certain medications and prior to surgery. The PA will also return patient phone calls and MyChart messages as needed or as assigned by the Clinic Medical Director and Physician Assistant Trainer and Supervisor. He/she may triage patient phone calls and electronic messages in the EHR, renew or fill prescriptions as needed for both his/her own patients as well as for other PAs and physicians in the practice. Inpatient surgical services include colorectal surgery, ENT, general surgery, gynecology, hand surgery, minimally invasive surgery, plastic surgery, surgical oncology, thoracic, urology, vascular. Duties will include consults and inpatient care and management. Duties include and not limited to evaluating care, ordering diagnostics and creating a treatment plan. The physician assistant will participate with inpatient sign out/hand-off at beginning and end of shift. The physician assistant will round and communicate with the surgery teams/residents/attending physicians. The physician assistant will be responsible of surgical consultations on potential surgical patients. The physician assistant will be involved in resuscitations of surgical patients from the ED and ICU. Responsibilities include coordination of procedures (including scheduling operations and other procedures, etc) and follow-up, admit and discharge patients (including admission H&P, orders, discharge summary, instructions, and medications) when appropriate. The physician assistant will triage phone calls from patients and nurses and be responsible for the reviewing critical labs, follow-up of results with patients and medical staff, obtaining comprehensive medical histories, performing initial and daily physical examinations/assessments, and exploring patient?s health needs in a trauma informed manner. The physician assistant will identify, treat, and manage hospitalized patients.
