This role ensures adherence to NERC Reliability Standards and internal control frameworks while contributing to the integrity and reliability of our operations. Under limited supervision, this role is primarily responsible for ensuring the reliable operations of a 666.1 MWac / 825.2 MWdc plant in Texas. This position will consist of both field and administrative duties including collaboration with external contractors. The role will report to the RRNA's Director of Solar O&M. The position is based in the approximate vicinity of Jacksboro Texas where the plant is located. Job Summary: Reporting to the Quality Team Lead, the Civil Quality Inspector is responsible for the quality control management and civil works acceptance of large scale solar and battery storage projects, with potential involvement with utility scale wind projects in the future. Responsibilities include conducting routine inspections to ensure code, testing, and material compliance of services and products adhere to the standard of Repsol's Quality Management System of renewable energy projects as assigned by the Quality Team Lead, Construction Manager, Project Manager, and others as needed. This position will also be responsible for the definition of quality requirements on our construction sites. This position is project-based, and will require relocation to the project location, with occasional travel to other sites as needed. Travel to the Downtown Houston office is limited. Key Responsibilities/Duties: * Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines through daily hazard recognition documentation review and enforcement. * Follow the QA/QC management system at sites. * Use QA/QC computer programs and tablets to document quality records. * Ability to read, interpret, and disseminate contractual language and industry related code information on multi-million-dollar renewable energy construction projects. * Responsible for performing all aspects of Civil inspection activities with minimum supervision. * Scheduling and leading meetings with project team members and management, both with Repsol and the EPC representatives * Work closely with EPC Quality Managers, inspectors, foremen, superintendents, and construction managers to resolve issues throughout construction * Coordinate with Assistant Civil Inspector daily for completion of inspection tasks * Ensure that Civil ITP stages are compliant with standards. * Review IFCs and overall accuracy. * Monitor Civil operations and conduct required work inspection to resolve quality related issues with workers and subcontractors. * Communicate with management and subcontractors on the requirements of Quality's scope of work. * Verify that all site activities comply with the quality codes and standards. * Provide appropriate feedback to management regarding QA/QC matters. * Develop Inspection and Test Programs. * Coordinate quality site inspections with all contractors/subcontractors and vendors. * Monitor the implementation of the approved site QC plan. * Inspect / review product material and testing to ensure compliance with code, standards, specifications, and QCM. * Identify and control all NCR's while ensuring correction with remedial action. * Witness post grade survey and ensure that the finish grade is to engineering specifications. * Witness density testing and ensure that daily testing documentation is in order. * Ensure all quality control turnover documentation is compiled and completed in a timely matter meeting project deadlines or contractual requirements. * Inspect remediation processes for any civil design changes. The candidate must be proficient in and have the ability and knowledge to witness, review, and understand industry-standard testing methods including: * Standard and Modified Proctors * Soil and Aggregate Gradations * Density and compaction testing * Concrete field and lab testing (including mix designs and constituents). * Other applicable ASTM test methods for soils The responsibilities of this position will include daily field inspections and reviews of all civil work, including but not limited to: * Grading * Concrete, rebar, and foundations * SWPPP compliance * Subgrade preparation * Road construction * SPCC implementation and adherence * Aggregate placement Cross training with other disciplines (mechanical and electrical) will be required as necessary and/or as determined by the Quality Team Lead. Minimum Qualifications: * Legally authorized to work in the US for any employer. * Valid US Driver's License. * OSHA 10 Certification. * Previous experience working with Geotechnical reports; previous roles completing concrete and constituent testing, density testing, and (lab) soils testing * Minimum of 5 years of construction experience on energy related projects. * Previous solar MV cable trenching experience is required. * Previous experience with SWPPP and BMPs is required. Preferred Qualifications: * Demonstrated ability in quality control of materials testing and acceptance, final grade verification, and SWPPP. * Demonstrated knowledge of USACE requirements and compliance. * OSHA 30 Certification. * One or more certifications in NICET, CCM, LEED, and ACI is a plus. * Previous experience with road construction and DOT requirements. * Previous experience with PV Plant construction, Wind farm construction, Substation Construction, concrete foundations/drilled piers, and sediment basins. * Knowledge of GPS survey equipment including Trimble, Leica, and TRUpoint. * Ability to conduct regular Quality Control reports and remedial processes outlined by the standards and specifications set forth in the engineering documents. * Ability to conduct technical writing and generate high-level, professional report summaries, as necessary * Understanding and awareness of site safety requirements by OSHA. * An ability to quickly review details, when required, to develop understanding on issues.
