Within a division, the Operations Supervisor - Hauling Operations is responsible for supervising the collections activities in one or more lines of business (commercial, residential, roll-off (industrial) and/or container delivery and pick up) in a geographically dispersed area. The Operations Supervisor oversees drivers and helpers and works with the Operations Manager and General Manager to implement tactical initiatives to drive functional excellence and budget achievement. The Operations Supervisor ensures adherence to all accident prevention programs and leads operations to ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, operating, regulatory, accounting, ethics, and other standards. Responsibilities include the execution and delivery of Safety, Customer Experience, and Efficiency while supporting a culture of employee engagement.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITIES:
Safety
* Understand and provide leadership to achieve and communicate about safety goals and objectives.
* Work to remove unsafe conditions or situations from drivers' routes.
* Work with the sales team to identify and eliminate any unsafe conditions on new route or for new customers.
* Partner with the maintenance department to ensure all equipment remains in working order and in compliance with safety standards.
* Oversee effective safety and accident prevention programs to ensure all reasonable actions are taken to prevent accidents and injuries; ensure a safe and productive work environment for all employees; implement and maintain and effective loss control and safety program.
* Engage assigned employees in active participation to instill a culture of safety by demonstration of a personal commitment to safe operations and active personal outreach to operational employees.
Customer Experience
* Provide service to all customers that meets or exceeds customer expectations with regard to the entire customer experience.
* Understand missed pickup goals and meet or exceed expectations related to those goals.
* Resolve unusual service requests, equipment breakdowns and schedule changes with timely communications to all stakeholders.
* Interact with customers to solve and rectify any issues and improve the overall customer experience.
* Serve as a positive representative of the Company to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty to the Company.
Efficiency
* Establish productivity goals where needed; ensure adherence to operating standards; and manage labor hours and disposal expenses per established and agreed plans.
* Lead drivers to exceed productivity goals and expectations for all routes.
* Create, modify, and improve routes to maximize density and improve efficiency.
* Reduce route hours to the extent possible with techniques such as service conversions and container upsizing.
* Execute other operational plans to help achieve or exceed the division's budgeted goals.
* Understand, support and execute service delivery while actively supporting maintenance and the operational role in fleet quality and maintenance.

Performs pre-trip and post-trip Department of Transportation inspections.

Career Path Definitions & Distinctions
B Technician: Demonstrates the ability and shows a complete understanding of Level C skills and equipment, while showing an increasing amount of knowledge of Level B Skills. Level C mechanical skills include grease bearings, knowledge of types of belts, lubrication (gear oils), ladders, use of all lifts and filter carts. Level C electrical skills include knowledge of wire sizes, splice connectors, knowledge of voltages, ability to read labels on sub panels to find main supply, ability to reset breakers and what to do if they continue to trip.
A Technician: Demonstrates the ability and shows a complete understanding of Level B skills and equipment, while beginning to show an increasing amount of knowledge of Level A skills. Master Technician: Demonstrates the ability to complete and understands all Level C, B and A skills and equipment. Level A mechanical skills include vertical weld and overhead weld with stick, diagnose dialed motor, gearbox and pumps, rebuilds gearbox, solenoids, motors, pumps (hydraulic/water), reads hydraulic schematics, welds 1/2" steal or larger. Level A electrical skills and equipment include: Electrical schematics, low voltage, control wiring, 480/240/120 volts circuits, isolation tests on motors, diagnose prof. buss circuits, conduit size, wire size, and wire count, wire a new panel by schematic, and load calculation and balance panels. A master Technician should also demonstrate the ability to successfully lead and train a small team.
Education, Experience & Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, progressive technician training, 1-5 years experience diagnosing and repairing equipment, a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment and be legally eligible to work in the US. It is expected that the candidate is at least 18 years of age, has the ability to work overtime when needed, and has the physical ability to lift 50 pounds on a frequent basis.

The Environmental Technician is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of landfill gas extraction systems, leachate collections systems and other related systems at Republic Services' landfills. The position is accountable for the ongoing monitoring of such systems, ensuring that all work adheres to safety regulations, as well as federal and state requirements.
**PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Conducts, or assists with, environmental sampling that may include ground water, surface water, air quality and gas migration.
+ Measures and records gas levels in landfill well fields and at probes in the landfill boundary to ensure the ongoing compliance with applicable safety regulations, as well as federal and state requirements.
+ Troubleshoots and corrects landfill gas extraction systems when necessary; report more complicated issues to management to ensure timely correction.
+ Manages and troubleshoots leachate system to ensure it continues to operate in accordance with safety standards, federal and state regulations.
+ Performs landfill surveying activities as required.
+ Prepares and submits required reporting data relative to landfill gas extraction, leachate and other related systems.
+ Performs all responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring adherence to all safety regulations that govern job performance; ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable federal and state requirements.
+ Performs other job-related duties as required.

+ Controls the operation, monitoring, and inspection of process equipment within plants including; pumps and motors, compressors, screens, overhead cranes, membranes, chemical pumps and associated equipment. Ensures process operations are continuously monitored for performance within specifications;
+ Interprets process control data (SCADA) and lab data against performance standards; initiates required adjustments to equipment within the plant to ensure effective and efficient processing and advises supervisor or other operators when conditions within the system warrant;
+ Monitors and records onto daily log sheets unit process metering devices via gauges, computer process control systems, etc. on an ongoing basis. Coordinates process control adjustments in conjunction with the other operators on shift;
+ Maintains data for required reports for internal regulatory agencies, and is accessible for all stakeholders;
+ Trouble shoots operational issues in Water and Wastewater Treatment plants: includes operational, biological, mechanical, instrumentation and primary logic control (PLC) issues;
+ Maintain and stay up to date on changes to best practices, legislation, policies and procedures within the water and wastewater industry;
+ Maintain all certifications and licenses in good standing; notify supervisor when changes occur;
+ Other duties as assigned by Management.

+ High School Diploma or equivalent required;
+ Grade 5 wastewater license preferred, other levels will be considered;
+ Demonstrated background in water or wastewater treatment required;
+ 5+ years of experience in the field in lieu of certifications will be considered;
