Residential Helper

The Driver Helper rides on the vehicle and assists a Driver in providing prompt, courteous and complete waste removal services for customers who reside on a designated residential route. The Driver Helper is responsible for safely loading waste, as well as carrying bags and containers to the vehicle for disposal. The position assists the Driver in maneuvering his or her vehicle by directing the Driver from the ground. In addition, the Helper helps to maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle, as well as the on the route and in the work area.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ride on the vehicle to assist the Driver while servicing customers on a designated route.
Operate packing mechanism and various levers and handles to activate the lifting and loading mechanism
Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body on each disposal trip; spray and clean the hopper and truck, if applicable.
Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with Company policy; report any safety issues on standard reports.
Courteously interact with all customers, dispatchers and others on a daily basis to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner.
Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste.
Clean area around an accidental waste spill, ensuring adherence to all applicable safety standards and policies.
Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner.
Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

I. Job Summary

A Driver Trainee will be trained by Republic Services to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL) to then assume the responsibility of a Driver with our Company. Driver Trainees will complete a comprehensive training program and be given the resources to take the CDL examination. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Successfully complete Republic Services' CDL training program, which includes classroom study, on-route training, driving experience, and resources (including the loan of a truck) necessary to take and pass the state CDL examination.
Complete twelve (12) full months of employment with Republic Services after obtaining a CDL.
Learn to perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the assigned vehicle in accordance with Company policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges and controls are in proper working order. Report any safety issues on standard reports.
Learn to safely operate a heavy or commercial truck along a designated route and to the disposal site; read route sheet, follow map and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by the dispatcher and/or supervisor.
Learn to operate manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with Company safety policies and procedures to lift and load refuse, operate compactor and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.
Learn to identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers in accordance with applicable departmental procedures.
Learn to continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste.
Continuously monitor the condition of any assigned vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time; clean waste from the packer blade and truck body on each disposal trip.
Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
After obtaining a CDL, perform all responsibilities of a Driver in one of the Company's lines of business (i.e., Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Roll-Off).
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Successfully propose, negotiate, and close profitable revenue opportunities at existing and new account locations by leveraging strong relationships with senior environmental and operations executives;
Effectively communicate the account strategy to the marketing team, field sales organization and all relevant internal stakeholders;
Provide leadership to internal organization by partnering with and adding direction, training and coaching to line management and field sales and service team to ensure that goals are attained;
Evaluate customer needs, understand market drivers and forces, and ensure appropriate service/product delivery and pricing;
Understand account profitability, value, and potential to develop strategy to maximize profit and increase market share;
Seek out and develop additional Corporate Accounts using detailed target analysis templates;
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree preferred with a preference toward those in Sales, Marketing, Business, or related fields;

Experience in B2B markets;

Job Duties:

Monitor daily routing activities and resolve issues to ensure pickup and delivery is on time. Evaluate and assess need for swing routes and verify all swing opportunities have been identified.
Analyze trends in swing percentage to identify improvement opportunities.
Ability to expect the unexpected and monitor and adjust today and tomorrow's plans throughout the day.
Understand daily disposal plans to help identify optimal disposal sites for each load to hold drivers accountable to adhering to the assigned disposal sites.
Meet to discuss disposal plans and recommendations with the Operations Manager and make updates if any intercompany or 3rd party changes occur.
Determine if service requests can be pulled forward to drive efficiency while also providing the best experience for our customers.

Courteously interact with customers, as required.
Route design is the first defense against customer service issues, and non-compliance from both hours of service and weight compliance standpoint. Routes must be set up in a way that allows drivers to be safe, successful, and efficient.

Call Center communication must be updated daily. Continual assessments and communications are required to reduce missed pickups and improve the communication channel between the division and the customers.
Evaluate route issues that may cause delays and utilize the tools available to communicate to the impacted customers.
Continually review routing media to process service exceptions/general messages/extra services information in order to meet the customer's needs.
Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction by adhering to and executing our universal service commitments.

The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising a maintenance shop that is under the umbrella responsibility of a Maintenance Manager. The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising a maintenance shop that is under the umbrella responsibility of a Maintenance Manager. Key Responsibilities:
Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers when needed (team atmosphere where everyone helps)
Operate a variety of Class A trucks
Loading and unloading of trucks
Manual labor on site to ensure fulfillment of customer needs
Proper placarding of vehicles to meet Company and DOT requirements/regulations
Maintain daily logs, time sheets, and various reports
Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules
Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial) and federal requirements
Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures
Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
Performs other duties as assigned
By position, ability to be on call for emergency response on rotating basis every other week
By position, site-remediation, equipment decontamination, and the handling of hazardous materials
