Your Key Responsibilities
Lead design teams related to flood control, stormwater, and drainage improvement projects, and/or the stormwater/drainage for major infrastructure projects that include other engineering disciplines associated with such improvements.
Oversee and lead design teams of engineers and technicians who utilize CAD software (Bentley MicroStation and Autodesk Civil 3D) who develop two- and three-dimensional models.
Manage and lead design teams of engineers and technicians who perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for infrastructure improvement project designs as well as for program master planning.
Lead in the development and preparation of design reports.
Lead in the development and preparation of project design elements including plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
Identify and analyze the principal design features and major design alternatives that satisfy the project's purpose and the client's needs.
Develop design alternatives to be compared against significant project parameters including site conditions, right-of-way requirements, utility conflicts, design standards, and cost.
Peer review plans and provide quality control reviews of engineering documents, reports, plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
Support multi-discipline design teams on a variety of projects.
Works on multiple projects concurrently.
Assist and/or lead in the preparation of client proposals, scopes, cost/quantity estimates, and schedules.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Demonstrated experience working with and leading design teams on multiple projects.
Demonstrated experience in flood control, stormwater, and drainage planning, design, and development of construction documents.
Experience and/or understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic analysis.
Self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Railway drainage design and analysis experience a plus.
Transportation (Caltrans) drainage design experience a plus.

Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
Experience: For Junior level roles, desire candidates have a minimum of two years of related work experience, first in the flood control, stormwater, and drainage disciplines, but other civil related experience is considered. For Senior level roles, desire candidates have a minimum of seven years of related work experience in flood control, stormwater, and drainage planning, design, and construction management for projects and programs.
Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license in State of Nevada is preferred or ability to obtain within one year of start date for Senior level roles and within three years of start date for junior level roles.

Your Role & Responsibilities
In this role, you will focus on:
* Infrastructure Design - Develop engineering designs for site grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway systems for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
* Master Planning - Collaborate on large-scale master planning efforts, integrating land use, transportation, and environmental considerations to create cohesive community plans.
* Regulatory Compliance - Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including zoning codes, environmental standards, and permitting requirements.
* Client Interaction & Relationship Building - Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships, and ensuring client satisfaction.
* Project Coordination - Work closely with architects, developers, planners, surveyors, and other professionals to coordinate project efforts and deliver integrated solutions.
* Construction Support - Provide support during the construction phase, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and conducting site visits to ensure design intent is met.
What We Are Looking For
* Professional Experience - 3-7 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on land development or site design.
* Education - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
* Licensure - Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred.
* Technical Skills - Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-HMS and other relevant engineering software.
* Knowledge of Land Development - Understanding of land development processes, including site analysis, zoning, permitting, and construction documentation.

Position overview:
This position monitors and tracks progress of designated construction projects in support of the assigned project manager and provides routine reports of accomplishments to appropriate officials and offices. Develop plans and conceptual design solutions for renovations and improvements to facilities.
Evaluates and recommends potential solutions renovations and improvements of existing facilities.
Supports the initiation of projects or provides technical onsite assistance in identifying and/or verifying facility conditions, repair estimates and timetables.
Supports development of budget estimates and justifications for requests, and verifies the already identified work/conditions submitted by facility managers during onsite inspections and evaluations.
Reviews proposed sites for a project, evaluates, and makes recommendations as to adequacy with regard to topography, subsurface conditions, utilities such as water, sewer, gas, electric power and heating systems, and development costs, and other factors.
Assists with the development and review of construction documents to detail the project structure, mechanical and electrical systems.
Assists with the technical portion of design and/or construction contracts as well as the administration of the contracts with architect-engineer firms.
Performing onsite final or substantial completion inspections and evaluations of actual conditions of existing and/or recently constructed buildings
Inspect and report building's functional adequacy; compliance to code requirements, including life safety, health, handicap access, energy conservation, environment and utilities.
Required education, knowledge and skills:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
Masters in Management or Education is highly desired
10+ years' related experience
Knowledge of the fundamental engineering principles, concepts and practices.
Government experience preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of site planning, building design and construction means, methods and codes, scheduling, material and labor cost estimating sufficient to evaluate general compliance environmental health, safety and protection requirements.
Average agility and dexterity. Duties will include moderate walking over rough, uneven or slippery surfaces, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, climbing ladders or similar activities, recurring lifting of moderately heave objects less than 50 lbs. and regular visits to construction sites.
Must pass a pre-employment background check
