In parallel, the team is building a Business Intelligence (BI) platform within Microsoft Fabric to better harness the power of its data. The Data Engineer will be experienced in using Microsoft Fabric and Power BI and will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data solutions using Microsoft Fabric tools, including Data Pipelines, Azure Data Lake Storage, OneLake, Data Warehouses, and Power BI. The ideal candidate will work closely with stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, accessibility, and visualization for business intelligence needs.
Role and Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources
Implement data storage solutions using Azure Data Lake, OneLake, and Data Warehouses to optimize performance and accessibility
Develop and maintain semantic data models, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security
Build and optimize Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support business intelligence needs
Work closely with stakeholders to design and implement user-friendly reporting solutions
Implement row-level security (RLS) and other governance measures in Power BI
Monitor and manage Fabric Capacity Metrics to optimize data infrastructure performance
Leverage Microsoft Purview for data governance and metadata management
Maintain data quality and integrity, ensuring compliance with organizational and industry standards
Work with Komline data Subject Matter Exprts (SMEs) to translate business needs into data solutions
Provide training and best practices to end-users to better understand the data we have available and to leverage Power BI and self-service analytics
Continuously improve data processes, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or a related field
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Fabric tools (Data Pipelines, OneLake, Data Warehouses, Azure Data Lake, etc.)
Hands-on experience with Power BI, including DAX, Power Query (M), and Power BI Service
Expertise in SQL and data modeling, with experience designing efficient and scalable data structures
Ability to develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion and transformation
Experience working with stakeholders to define reporting and analytics requirements
Microsoft DP-600 or DP-700 certification (Fabric Analytics Engineer or Data Analyst)
Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
Nice to Have:
Familiarity with data governance tools like Microsoft Purview
Strong understanding of data security, access control, and compliance best practices
