**Job Category:** Engineering Assists other departments with repair, development and research of engineering issues. Ensures engineering documentation is issued in a timely manner for compliance to meet aircraft repair time frames.

+ Assists departments with issues related to one or more engineering areas.
+ Monitors fleet operational health and incorporates solutions to maintain fleet health levels.
+ Collects data and generates technical reports, as assigned. Updates and revises data within the supplemental manual sets from collected data.
+ Assists in the development of process improvement, cost estimates and design plans.
+ Creates, reviews, and approves shop visits and work scopes for repair and/or overhaul.
+ Coordinates with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Engineering department for repairs and technical assistance.
+ Provides engineering support for line and heavy maintenance to include minor repair authorizations, parts and materials substitutions, repairs, and reports.
+ Reviews Airworthiness Directives (AD) and Service Bulletins (SB) for applicability. Develops Engineering data to accomplish modifications in response to ADs, SBs, Service Information Letters, etc.
+ Responds to requests for engineering assistance to obtain or develop approved engineering data when such data is not in the Aircraft Maintenance Manual, Structure Repair Manual, or other FAA approved documents.
+ Interacts with applicable departments to define, maintain, and optimize the Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program.
+ Assists in minimizing costs and aircraft out-of-service time relative to area of responsibility.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**

This individual will have the opportunity to lead the design efforts for various Transportation projects ranging from small structure replacements to roundabouts to highway interchanges and freeway reconstruction.
Responsibilities:
Design and Quantity Calculations
Use of Civil 3D design software
Plan Production using AutoCAD
Field visits for verification
Prepare plans, quantities, and cost estimates.
Coordinate with multi-discipline design team
Prepare engineering drawings consisting of basic arrangements, layouts, assemblies, isometrics, etc., from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.
Support geometric design engineering of road & highway projects and related engineering.
Utilize technical manuals and directives to ensure compliance with codes and company policies.
Compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Administrative tasks
Requirements:
1 -3 years of highway design experience
Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D preferred.
Knowledge of INDOT transportation standards, procedures, and specifications preferred.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office.
