Responsibilities Peraton seeks a RMF/ISSO Cybersecurity Engineer to support engineering efforts for the ArCTIC Lab and assist with Lab accreditation requirement packages as necessary. Location: Fort Gordon, GA. * Assist with assessing, designing, developing, and recommending integrated security system solutions that ensure proprietary and confidential data and systems are protected.
* Assist with technical engineering services for the support of integrated security systems and solutions.
* Interface with the stakeholders in the strategic design process to translate security and business requirements into technical designs.
* Assist with configuration, validate secure complex systems, and test security products and systems to detect security weakness.
* Validate and verify system security requirements definitions and analysis and establish system security designs.
* Design, develop, implement and/or integrate IA and security systems and system components including those for networking, computing, and enclave environments.
* Build information assurance (IA) into systems and ensure updates are deployed to developmental and operational environments.
* Prepare Body of Evidence (BoE) documents such as System Security Plan (SSP), Security Assessment Report (SAR), Risk Assessment Report (RAR), Security Control Traceability Matrix (SCTM), Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M), System Software and Installation Procedures, Security Test Procedures and Software Application documentation, policy and procedures requirements.
* Collaborate with engineering team for design and implementation to ensure RMF systems comply with FISMA provisions and DoD Army Policies and regulations for cyber operations.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
* Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with Ph.D. Will consider Associate +10 years, HS + 12 years of experience.
* Experience in a production IT environment managing enterprise IT infrastructure, hardware, hosting service and network areas
* Familiarity/Expertise with:
* CISSP, MCSE, MCP / Operating Systems, Proficient: RedHat Enterprise Linux, SELinux, Solaris 8 and above, Windows
* Operation Systems Familiar: Debian, Fedora, OSX, BSD, IRIX, MEPIS
* Languages: Shell Scripting, Perl, C++, C, VHDL, Active HDL, Visual Basic, Basic, Windows Scripting
* DEVOPS Tools: Puppet, JIRA, Confluence, Redmine, Fortify, CVS, GIT, Alfresco

Target Salary Range
$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. BASIC REQUIREMENTS for GS-7 and GS-9:
Degree: Professional engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics;(e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties; and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
You may qualify if you meet one of the following:
1. GS-7: You must have completed a 4 year course of study leading to a bachelor's from an accredited institution AND must have documented Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) or one of the following:
a) Class Standing - upper third of the graduating class based on completed courses in the college, university, or major subdivision;
b) Grade Point Average - 2.95 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on your official transcript or as computed based on 4 years of education or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of curriculum; OR 3.45 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in your major field or the required courses in your major field completed during the final 2 years of your curriculum. Tax Law Impact for PCS: On 22-Dec-2017, Public Law 115-97 - the "Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017" suspended qualified moving expense deductions along with the exclusion for employer reimbursements and payments of moving expenses effective 01-Jan-2018 for tax years 2018 through 2025. The law made taxable certain reimbursements and other payments, including driving mileage, airfare and lodging expenses, en-route travel to the new duty station, and temporary storage of those items. The Federal Travel Regulation Bulletin (FTR) 18-05 issued by General Services Administration (GSA) has authorized agencies to use the Withholding Tax Allowance (WTA) and Relocation Income Tax Allowance (RITA) to pay for "substantially all" of the increased tax liability resulting from the "2018 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act" for certain eligible individuals. 5+ years of experience, with a focus on experiences that directly
relate to deploying and managing Data Science tools in AWS and Azure, and demonstrate practical, hands-on experience with multi-cloud environments
1+ years of direct technical experience with Apache ecosystem data engineering projects (NiFi, Kafka, Airflow, Spark, Iceberg, etc.)
1+ years of direct technical implementation experience with Python based ETL of JSON, compressed, and columnar datasets
Experience with Dask, Prefect, Pachyderm, Airflow, or similar Python ecosystem data engineering projects preferred
1+ years of bash or PowerShell scripting
Direct technical experience; translating (potentially vague) proposed business processes into corresponding automated data pipelines; direct technical implementation experienced with creating, modifying, and automating production-grade ETL pipelines and data monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or Logstash.
