Plateau Excavation is seeking a BIM Engineer to support the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale sitework, infrastructure, and mission-critical projects across the Southeast. Reporting to the BIM Manager, this role focuses on developing accurate digital models and supporting data-driven workflows that improve constructability, coordination, and field execution.
This is an in-office position based in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain BIM and 3D models for earthwork, grading, utilities, and site logistics
Support estimating and preconstruction with model-based quantity takeoffs and analysis
Assist the BIM Manager with constructability reviews and design coordination
Coordinate BIM data with survey, engineering, project management, and field teams
Create and maintain machine control models and digital terrain models (DTMs)
Identify and help resolve design conflicts and clashes prior to construction
Update models throughout the project lifecycle, including design revisions and as-built conditions
Support 4D scheduling and visualization as needed
Follow and help implement Plateau's BIM standards, workflows, and documentation

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Geomatics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2+ years of experience in BIM, VDC, or digital construction, preferably in heavy civil or sitework

Purpose of Classification:

May provide limited direction or oversight to engineering and drafting technicians assigned to a project.
Calculates cost estimates and identifies resources needed for projects.
Facilitates communication between the owner, project manager, contractors, other governmental agencies, the public, and other interested parties.
Provides technical assistance to project managers and contracts officers during the bid phase of project design to help evaluate proposals and make recommendations for awarding the contract.
Minimum Qualifications:

Job Description
Basic Qualifications:
• Accredited baccalaureate degree in computer science or information systems management degree
• 3 years' experience, associated degree, or Microsoft certification in MS SQL Server, with knowledge in SSIS, SSRS, SSAS.
• 1 year experience, associated degree, or Microsoft certification in .NET 2.5, C# in both Windows forms and web-based applications
• 1 year experience, associated degree, or third-party certification in Agile and TFS methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
