Site utility design, roadway improvements, sewer equalization tank design, water and wastewater plant expansions and upgrades. Job Functions: * Responsible for performing technical engineering work involving original designs, as well as determining the conformance of designs prepared by other licensed PE's to pertinent standards and regulations. * Coordinates outside engineering design contracts for all types of municipal projects including contact with private engineers, developers, and the public is required. * Aid the City Engineer in design and project management of municipal CIP projects. * Attend Planning Commission and Design Review meetings and review subdivision plans for input to Planning Commission and Design Review. * Prepare and manage subdivision contracts and projects from pre-submittal meetings through bond release. * Manage and answer questions concerning flood plains within the City. * Supervises the overall use of a database management system for departmental records, and other duties as assigned by the City Engineer. * Must have the ability to deal with the public professionally and tactfully. * Proficiency in all MS Office products is required. Perform other duties as assigned by the City Engineer. Minimum Qualifications: * Must have Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university. Current registration as a Professional Engineer by the State of Tennessee and five (5) years of responsible civil engineering experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience providing the above knowledge, skills, and abilities. * Erosion control certification Level 1 and 2 is preferred. * Experience in Site Development/Construction is preferred. * Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D is highly preferred and proficiency will be required within the first year of employment. Special Requirements: * Must be able to drive and hold a valid Driver's license that must remain valid as a condition of continued employment. * Must pass a background screen, driver's license verification and physical exam, including a drug test. Successfully implement material handling systems by developing and implementing detailed commissioning plans. Attend all project related turnover meetings, functional design reviews and team meetings. Fully understands scope, budgets, and schedules for the project. Reviews initial project schedule and identify gaps or changes needed. Maintains and tracks issues list, reporting to Supervisor / Manager as required. Performs PLC Code reviews. Completes all in-house testing and emulation. Provides site/field reports daily, including progress, issues, and next steps, as requested.
