Job Description ENGINEERING - SUMMER SEASONAL The position is responsible to assist the Engineering staff by conducting inspections, surveys, measuring quantities, collecting and implementing GIS data, mapping assistance, preparing reports and calculations, and performing research for various project types which may include roadway paving, stormwater, water and sewer, parking lot, sidewalk, and curb and gutter improvements for public and private construction. The positions will receive direction, guidance, and mentoring from technical and management staff within the Development Services - Engineering department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Provides inspection and oversight of the installation of public improvement projects and coordinates with City staff on related work. Performs on-site inspections to ensure conformance with engineering principles and construction standards. Assist staff with GIS attribute data collection and data entry Update existing GIS attribute data and migration of historic data Consults with engineers to discuss and resolve design and construction problems.
