Perfect Attendance: For every six (6) months period (April 1 - September 30) and (October 1 - March 31) in which, no sick or unpaid leave is utilized, an employee shall receive ten (10) hours of annual leave credited. Employees who qualify for a consecutive Perfect Attendance benefit shall receive (14) hours of annual leave credited for each consecutive earning period. Sick Leave: Each employee earns (96) hours (12 days) of sick leave annually with no waiting period for use and maximum accrual of 1,440 hours. Upon separation of City employment due to resignation, employee shall receive payment of all accrued sick leave at a rate of twenty- five percent (25%) of the employee's current rate of pay at time of resignation. Upon separation of employment due to retirement, employee shall receive payment of all accrued sick leave at a rate of fifty percent (50%) of the employee's current rate of pay at the time of retirement. Sick Leave Conversion: After completion of one (1) year of continuous, full-time employment with the City, an employee may convert their unused portion of their first six (6) days (maximum of forty- eight (48) hours) of accrued sick leave into annual leave. Evaluate damaged airframe, engines, systems, APU's, components, and accessories and provide solutions beyond the applicable manual limitations in accordance with regulatory and original equipment manufacturer requirements. Identify new technologies that will improve operational performance and reliability. Review Service Bulletins, Service Letters, and other service documents to determine applicability. Perform cost benefit analysis to determine effectiveness of proposed modifications. Coordinate engineering functions with regulatory agencies as required for approval for major repairs and alterations. Additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications, Skills, Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Science or Engineering, and/or Certification in Aviation (E.g. A & P license) with relevant experience. Familiarity with troubleshooting and resolving maintenance and system issues. Working knowledge of schematics and wiring diagrams. Familiar with FAA Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Supplemental Type Certificates Fleet specific OEM Manuals. Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Federal Aviation Regulations. Working knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance tracking programs necessary to perform job functions. Excellent oral, written, and communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal and social skills to build a good rapport. Maintain communication with all parties involved on a project. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position will not have direct reports but may require providing training for new/existing team members.
