Technical Recruiter
Tenex 3.6
New York, NY jobs
Tenex is a Chief AI Officer for forward-thinking mid-market & enterprise companies. We're a full-stack strategic technology partner that helps you identify the highest ROI AI opportunities in your business, set your transformation strategy, and execute through a combination of technology & change management offerings.
Our Core Values
We give a shit. We care deeply about all we do. We take pride in our work and are addicted to collecting “Wows” from customers. We sweat the details, see around corners, and are thoughtful in our approach. Excellence isn't optional-it's who we are.
We take out the trash. No task is beneath us, and no ego is above the work. If something needs doing, we do it-whether or not anyone notices. We do the work to help the team, not to collect personal recognition.
We never beat around the bush. Clear communication is kindness. We're straightforward, open, and timely with our teammates-always direct, always respectful. Nobody should ever have to guess how we feel.
We go down the rabbit hole. Then keep going. We constantly seek growth by any means necessary. Curiosity drives us to explore diverse ideas, perspectives, and cultures. "Because we've always done it that way" is never an acceptable answer. We actively challenge ourselves and each other to stay inspired, stay curious, and evolve our thinking.
We do the right thing. Trust is our most valuable asset-earned slowly, lost instantly. Doing what's right isn't negotiable, even when it's inconvenient, unpopular, or costly. Integrity guides every decision we make, without exception.
We operate like Navy SEALs. Greatness doesn't happen between 9 and 5. We willingly invest nights and weekends-not for optics or politics, but because genuine impact demands commitment. We work hard because our mission deserves nothing less.
We share feedback. We listen to feedback. Feedback is our fastest path to excellence. We invite candid critique, meet it with curiosity-not ego-and act on it immediately. Every critique is a chance to level up ourselves and our teammates, so we default to collaboration, assume positive intent, and treat every interaction as a two‑way learning opportunity.
The role
We're hiring our first Tech Recruiter to build the talent foundation for Tenex as we scale. This is a high-impact role where you'll own full-cycle recruiting for both technical and client-facing positions-from Applied AI Engineers and Tech Leads to AI Strategists and AI Engagement Managers.
You'll be our first people hire, reporting directly to a Managing Partner. This means you'll have outsized influence on who we become as a company and how we scale our team from 15 to 150 in 2026. You'll fill critical roles fast while simultaneously building recruiting infrastructure that can grow with us.
If you thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments where every hire matters and you're energized by building systems from the ground up, this role is for you.
What you'll do
Talent Acquisition (70%)
Own full-cycle recruiting for technical roles (Applied AI Engineers, Tech Leads) and consulting roles (AI Strategists, AI Engagement Managers)
Do targeted candidate outreach through Alex Lieberman's (Managing Partner) social channels and Linkedin Sales Navigator
Source passive candidates through creative channels-LinkedIn, GitHub, AI/ML communities, technical conferences, and beyond.
Conduct initial screenings to assess technical skills, client-facing abilities, and cultural fit for a fast-moving, builder-first environment
Partner closely with hiring managers and Managing Partners to understand role requirements and refine hiring strategies
Manage candidate experience from first touch through offer acceptance, ensuring every interaction reflects Tenex's values

Develop employer branding initiatives to position Tenex as the place where elite builders come to do their best work
Stay ahead of NYC tech talent trends and adapt strategies accordingly
What You Bring
5-7 years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, ideally at a high-growth startup or tech company
Proven track record sourcing and closing technical roles (engineers, data scientists, ML/AI specialists)
Experience recruiting for client-facing or consulting roles (solutions engineers, technical account managers, strategists, etc.)
Deep familiarity with sourcing techniques: Boolean search, LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, Stack Overflow, and niche community engagement
Strong proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (Ashby experience is a plus)
Excellent judgment in assessing both technical skills and cultural fit
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills-you can influence hiring managers and sell candidates on the vision
Scrappy, resourceful mindset with the ability to build processes from scratch
