The Rescue Mission is seeking a full time Payroll Specialist to work in our Finance Department. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role maintains payroll records, prepares reports, and resolves payroll discrepancies while providing excellent customer service to employees and management. The Payroll Specialist collaborates with HR and Finance teams to ensure data integrity and supports audits and other payroll-related projects. The payroll specialist will also support accounts payable with data entry and record keeping. Duties & Responsibilities Coordinate bi-weekly payroll submission in the third-party payroll system. Maintains accurate employee records. Maintains the withholdings, time policies, and accruals set up in the third party payroll system Paycor. Resolves payroll exceptions on timecards and balances hours to the payroll register. Record payroll related entries for month end and year end close. Prepares reconciliations of benefit (health, 401k, dentals, etc.) and garnishment related payables. Provides information by answering requests from employees and outside agencies related to payroll and attendance. Assists with Accounts Payable data entry and record keeping.
