Position Overview:
The Data Analyst will assist the actuarial department by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting relevant data sources in support of pricing, reserving, filing, reporting, and other business needs. Note that this role is not a part of the actuarial exam program.
Essential Job Functions:
Collaborate with cross functional teams to improve data and automate reports where appropriate.
Use analytics to spot trends, dependencies, and patterns.
Acquiring and compiling structured and unstructured data while verifying its quality, accuracy, and reasonableness.
Support actuarial department in responding to corporate/regulatory requests (state data calls, etc.), from determining requirements to data preparation to final exhibit creation.
Align with operations team as part of ongoing system development/enhancements while enhancing data availability within the organization.
Qualifications:
Degree in Business, Computer Science or another related field.
A minimum 2 years of P/C insurance experience is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as solid oral and written communication skills
Technical expertise in Microsoft Excel required; experience with Access, SQL, VBA, or other programming languages.

Position Summary
The ResearchAnalyst is responsible for all data that is published on bliQ. This includes specifications, pricing, documentation, product availability and associated publications. Job responsibilities are subject to change based on department needs.
Essential Functions
• Review and correct records created by third-party service.
• Review and correct pricing updates, database maintenance files and discontinued reports created by third-party service.
• Review and correct each day the Daily Monitoring Report provided by third-party service.
• Maintain vendor contacts/relationships to ensure receipt of relevant product information. Attend OEM vendor webinars/product pre-briefings on new products.
• Request pricing and add device, supplies and options pricing on spec records for vendors responsible for in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Australia. Confirm availability of products with manufacturer contacts to obtain discontinued dates when applicable. Perform database maintenance using price lists to verify current product offerings from manufacturer.
• Provide support to manufacturers, sales department, leasing companies and end users.
• Assist with projects pertaining to improvements and additions to the databases (e.g. street pricing utility). Coordinate with Editorial/Lab on new product launches/testing and ensured receipt of necessary information and addition of spec records in a timely manner so test data could be uploaded.
• Assist with backfilling info on all current records when new fields are added.
• Associate publications (test reports, FL reports, productivity) uploaded in database to other similar models. Review info uploaded to make sure all info is available. Correct or contact editor if problem exists.
• Assist with creating documents that outline processes.
• Create spec records when needed.
• Upload product documentation when missing from database.
• Upload images (Photo Gallery) taken during testing and associate to other models.

Job Overview:
Lord Abbett's Emerging Markets Fixed Income team is seeking an experienced emerging markets sovereign researchanalyst to cover a subset of sovereign credits across Africa, Asia and Latin America. The Emerging Markets Sovereign Analyst will lead the credit analysis for emerging market sovereigns using both quantitative and qualitative analysis tools and techniques.
We'll trust you to:
Conduct independent research, develop regional macro-economic, financial, political forecasts and translate them into specific investment views in Emerging Markets fixed income markets - external debt, local rates and currencies.
Formulate and forecast views on relative value across countries and regions, macro/political risk assessments, and debt sustainability and translate views into actionable trade recommendations
Active communication of views to EMD PMs and other external and internal clients
Active participation in investment meetings
You'll need to have:
Strong quantitative skills and familiarity with economic and debt databases from official creditors, i.e. IMF/World Bank as well as sources such as Haver/Bloomberg; demonstrated ability to use such data to develop comprehensive financial models.
Experience analyzing EM sovereign debt restructurings, modeling potential recovery values and ability to generate alpha in restructuring / post restructuring process
Possession of robust international contact network and ability to conduct bilateral due diligence meetings with policymakers, IFI representatives, academics, and other experts.
Strong communication, collaboration, and ongoing dialogue with the portfolio management team to share trade recommendations, market views and analysis of events.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Political Science, International Relations
Preferably 3 years of direct EMD Sovereign Analyst / Economist and/or broader rating agency or asset management experience
Experience at the IMF is a plus
