Our Specialty Finance investment team is in search of an Asset Backed ResearchAnalyst to help maximize the performance of our Asset Backed Investment capabilities. The Portfolio Analyst will play a pivotal role within our organization, supporting the investment research and investment operations. As a key member of our collaborative team, you will assist the team with fulfilling clients' needs and objectives through astute investment decisions and meticulous asset allocation processes. Beyond analytical prowess, the ideal candidate will adeptly execute daily processes established by the team, implement approved strategic investment approaches, conduct thorough research, and expertly maintain and adjust firm models as directed. Comfort in engaging with the investment committee is paramount and a drive to interact with clients is appreciated. This role not only offers a path to maintain, monitor, and enhance our investment process, but after learning our approaches, values, and styles, it also serves as a springboard for professional growth.
Responsibilities & Activities
Prepare portfolio research reports at the request of the investment committee
Allocate aggregated trades across accounts as directed
Aid in monitoring to ensure portfolios stay within tolerance bands
Work in conjunction with the Portfolio Manager to rebalance accounts into portfolio models
Act as liaison between the firm and various companies to identify share class eligibility
Serve as a member of the Investment Management Committee
During tax season, assist with harvesting gains and losses for tax efficiency
Work with team to ensure fair execution and trade review for compliance
Coordinate with senior team members to produce, analyze and oversee the production of quarterly performance reports, as well as troubleshoot and report data inaccuracies and enact solutions
Database management, including coding accounts, fee schedules, securities, and portfolio models
Assist with evaluation of potential alternative investments and maintain knowledge of the firm's current alternative holdings
Educate clients as needed, providing ongoing communication and guidance on portfolio performance and market developments
Stay informed of market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes that may impact investment decisions
Collaborate with team and provide recommendations on how to implement new capabilities within our platforms
Other special projects to support firm-wide process improvement and capabilities
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
3+ years of experience in a financial services firm is preferred
Variety of experience across asset classes is highly preferred
Familiar with iRebal, YCharts, Morningstar, Schwab, Wealthbox and other industry-specific platforms preferred
CFA designation is not required for this role; desire to obtain in the future would be supported
Series 65 (within 6 months of hire)
