What will the role entail?

• As an intern, you will work directly alongside a head futures and cryptocurrency trader on a trading desk as a primary research analyst
• Conduct research and statistical analysis to identify actionable market behavior and develop/back test trading strategies
• Identify and analyze financial/events/information that will have an impact to the team
• You will develop an in-depth knowledge of the trading industry and financial markets

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or another highly quantitative field
• Strong academic background in statistical modeling
• Demonstrated intermediate-level experience with either R or Python programming languages
• Excellent analytical skills, with strong attention to detail
• Self-motivated, enjoy challenges and significant responsibility, and thrive in fast paced, competitive environments
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Position Purpose
We are currently seeking an MBA-intern to join Pohlad Future Ventures (PFV), a dedicated capital base focused on investing in new technologies across the Energy, Food & Agriculture, and Transportation sectors. The goal of this summer internship is for the candidate to prepare an industry research report on an assigned industry, containing proprietary analysis and ideas, tied to actionable PFV investment opportunities. While prior investment experience is not required, the candidate should identify as a "self-starter" with the ability to work independently on assignments and apply superior critical thinking skills to distill large amounts of raw data and other materials into a final deliverable. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and key contributor role, with significant guidance from the fund's Principals, while gaining experience in identifying and underwriting early and growth stage investments.
We are offering flexible arrangements to allow continuation of a graduate degree, if necessary.
Key Accountabilities
* Research and compile data related to target industries, competitive landscapes, areas of growth, investment opportunities and other relevant topics
* Summarize and analyze data; make recommendations related to research findings
* Report and explain complex findings, complete with written text and graphs illustrating data
* Deliver reports and presentations of findings to investment fund Principals
* Perform other related duties as assigned

* Progress towards MBA or related graduate degree
* Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, or related field preferred
* 1-2 years of prior related experience preferred
