Job Description
Sunderstorm is leading the technology charge in cannabis, one of the most exciting and challenging industries today. We are expanding both domestically and internationally, and data-driven insights are critical to our growth. We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our team, reporting to the Data Science Manager, to help drive e-commerce sales and support both our marketing and product teams with actionable analytics.
As a Data Analyst, you'll partner with marketing, product, and e-commerce to turn data into decisions. You'll own SQL analysis and Tableau dashboards, ensure consistent metrics and clean data, and uncover insights that improve conversion and customer experience. You'll evaluate performance across channels, run campaign analyses, and deliver clear, actionable recommendations that guide business strategy. Statistical testing and experiment design experience is a plus.
This role is ideal for someone who loves turning data into action. You will not only surface insights but also make clear recommendations that shape marketing campaigns, optimize spend, improve ROI, and support product decisions. Duties and Responsibilities:
Be a strategic thought partner to stakeholders across product, marketing, e‑commerce, and leadership; framing questions, shaping hypotheses, and translating insights into decisions.
Build and maintain core BI assets (dashboards, data models, scheduled reports); apply Tableau best practices and create executive-ready presentations that turn analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.
Perform ad‑hoc SQL analysis across key data sources (e.g., Shopify data, CRM, ads/web analytics) to answer high‑impact questions quickly and accurately.
Analyze marketing and e-commerce performance across channels (Meta, Google, email, social, paid media, SEO) and provide actionable recommendations to optimize spend and improve results.
Train and monitor pretrained AI agents on internal datasets to improve accuracy, reduce hallucinations, and ensure model outputs align with business needs.
Monitor and interpret sales trends and customer behavior, identifying opportunities to increase revenue, improve conversion, and enhance engagement.
Support the Product Manager by maintaining reports, transforming data from multiple sources, building visualizations, and conducting ad-hoc market analyses that inform product strategy.
Collaborate with the Analytics Engineer to maintain analytics‑ready pipelines, consistent metric definitions, and strong data quality through validation and reconciliation.
Lead pre- and post-campaign analyses across paid, owned, and on-site experiences to highlight performance drivers and recommend optimizations.
Assist with data cleaning, validation, and mapping efforts to maintain data quality and ensure consistency across reporting systems.
Stay current with modern analytics tools, techniques, and industry trends; evaluate and pilot improvements that increase speed, accuracy, and insight quality.
Collaborate with ERP specialists to ensure primary data sources are accurate, integrated, and aligned with analytics and reporting requirements.
Strong descriptive analytics skills with the ability to interpret trends and patterns; familiarity with statistical analysis, experimentation, and advanced hypothesis testing is a plus.
Skills and Qualifications:
2+ years in a data analyst or business analyst role
Bachelor's degree required; Master's in analytics, business analytics, Data Science, Engineering or related field preferred
2+ years analyzing marketing and e-commerce performance, including A/B testing and conversion optimization
Strong skills with reporting and analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Tableau, Google Analytics, GA4)

About the Job:

Expected base salary for the role will generally be between $165,000 - $215,000 per year at the commencement of employment. Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES
Development, analysis and optimization of execution models and systematic trading strategies in fixed income with a focus on linear rates and liquid markets
Execution monitoring and alpha - buildout and evolve our library of execution algorithms, monitoring of execution strategies whilst proactively providing enhancements
Rates alpha research - conduct and lead new alpha research in addition to enhancing our suite of existing alpha strategies
Development of statistical models and machine learning frameworks for evaluation of execution methods, algorithms and customized TCA (transaction cost analysis)
Proactively co-ordinate with partners in Quant and Technology to enable seamless implementation and technical support
Communicate and work closely with Portfolio Managers and Traders to ensure ideas are sharpened and implemented in an efficient manner
REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree in a quantitative discipline (mathematics, engineering, econometrics, physics)
3+ years of experience in a quantitative analytics role within a trading environment preferably at a bank (Automated Market Making / Algo Analytics / eTrading) or hedge fund / asset manager focused on development of execution and systematic strategies sensitive to transaction costs, with a focus on rates and related liquid markets
Strong programming skills and numerical problem-solving techniques; proficiency with Python with a preference for experience with high frequency data, kdb+/Q and modern development stack
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with strong attention to detail
Experience applying Data Science and Machine Learning techniques to solve complex data intensive problems.

Qualifications:

What You'll Do at Engage R+D
Research Consultants design, manage and execute multi-faceted projects for philanthropic, non-profit, and government clients. Research Consultants are responsible for client-facing work that spans the full life cycle of the project, from scoping, design, data collection, and analysis to reporting and facilitating learning sessions with clients and community stakeholders. We value contributions from all team members to strengthen internal operations, infrastructure, and organizational well-being.
Essential Functions & Duties
Project management and research support: As a core team member, you'll serve on multiple project teams, playing various roles from analyst and learning partner to project manager or lead on streams of work. As a project manager, you'll work closely with project directors and team members to co-design and implement work plans, collect and analyze data (qualitative and quantitative), and support the production of high-quality, actionable products. You'll also be actively involved in efforts to facilitate and engage diverse stakeholders in co-creation, sensemaking, and shared learning.
Organizational contributions: You'll have ample opportunities to contribute to our organizational development and success by participating in team retreats and workgroups focused on business development, organizational learning, communications, field building, and strengthening internal infrastructure. Compensation
We offer a competitive compensation package and create a workplace where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. The starting salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000, and benefits include, but are not limited to:
