Position Overview:
The Data Analyst will assist the actuarial department by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting relevant data sources in support of pricing, reserving, filing, reporting, and other business needs. Note that this role is not a part of the actuarial exam program.
Essential Job Functions:
Collaborate with cross functional teams to improve data and automate reports where appropriate.
Use analytics to spot trends, dependencies, and patterns.
Acquiring and compiling structured and unstructured data while verifying its quality, accuracy, and reasonableness.
Support actuarial department in responding to corporate/regulatory requests (state data calls, etc.), from determining requirements to data preparation to final exhibit creation.
Align with operations team as part of ongoing system development/enhancements while enhancing data availability within the organization.
Qualifications:
Degree in Business, Computer Science or another related field.
A minimum 2 years of P/C insurance experience is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as solid oral and written communication skills
Technical expertise in Microsoft Excel required; experience with Access, SQL, VBA, or other programming languages.

Job Duties: Interns will gain hands-on experience working on various conservation research projects at the North Carolina Aquariums lab at the NCSU Center for Marine Sciences and Technology in Morehead City, NC. Because we have a variety of ongoing projects, students would have some choices of research
projects. Our aim is to offer a wide range of experiences, including field work in coastal habitats, with a diversity of conservation projects.
Major Task to be Performed:
Research will be conducted under the daily supervision of Dr. Carol Price, the conservation research coordinator. One of the largest projects students will work on is Spot A Shark USA (SAS). The student working with SAS will learn how to process sand tiger shark images that are uploaded by citizen scientists
using an image analysis software. The spots on the sides of the sharks are digitally mapped, resulting in a library of uniquely identified individuals. This collective database of sharks is being used to understand how sand tiger sharks use the shipwreck habitats off the North Carolina coast. Other projects include headstarting the Carolina gopher frog (a native species of frog with highly decreased population being considered for listing under the Endangered Species Act) for release back into ponds in the Croatan National Forest, and
monitoring Crystal skipper (an endemic butterfly) populations on the barrier island. Additional opportunities may be developed that align with Aquarium needs and intern interests or skills.
Final Product or Outcome Anticipated: Interns will gain experience with methods for conducting research, data management, research software, data analysis, report writing, scientific communication and project organization

Job Overview
The summer intern will have the opportunity to work on strategy and projects to demonstrate value of an oncology product approaching launch. They will gain exposure to HEOR, RWE and Medical Affairs teams at Genmab and will learn how HEOR can inform drug development and market access preparations at global and local level.
What You'll Do
* Conduct literature search/review re: unmet needs, treatment guidelines, impact of treatment on clinical, economic, patient reported outcomes.
* Lead HEOR research projects providing input on study design, data analysis and results
* Develop/Present (power point slides) on research-related topics to an extended or cross-functional team
* Assist in preparations for medical planning and launch planning as appropriate
* Assist in preparations for early scientific advice as appropriate.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
* PhD student who has completed course work towards a PhD degree in Epidemiology, Economics, Public Health, Pharmaceutical Policy or a closely related area.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate key insights into strategy / tactics

* Proficiency in SAS/R Programming and experience in working with claims and electronic health record datasets
