The Industrial Engineer is responsible for assembly and engineering processes integrated into TVS Supply Chain Solutions' Value Added Assembly services. Qualifications • This is a 1st shift position, typically 7 am - 3:30 pm but some OT is required and starts and end times will need to be flexible. • Prefer 1+ year in Assembly Manufacturing Engineering and SHOP FLOOR experience. • Candidate should be familiar with assembly, tools, processes and systems (previous exposure to client is a plus). • Candidate must have daily support to line operations/shop floor experience. • Ability to interact with wage operators as well as other salaried workers is required. • Real world, industrial shop floor experience is necessary for this position, the education requirement for • BS in engineering is preferred but secondary to the need for on the job experience. Job Description The Onsite Manufacturing Engineer will design, integrate, or improve manufacturing systems or related processes. May work with commercial or industrial designers to refine product designs to increase producibility and decrease costs. Key Responsibilities: Manage all Customer service order requests. Quote, order have produced and shipped on time. Input and maintain BOM's, manufacturing routing data, and other necessary records. Work with the Quality Dept to design and produce production gauges. Design, implement, and maintain tooling modifications and automated manufacturing systems to enhance production efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for automation and process improvement. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automated systems and machinery. Design and developing new tooling while upgrading existing tooling for process improvement and cost reductions. Train operators and maintenance personnel on new automated processes and technologies. Stay updated on industry trends and technologies in manufacturing automation. Root cause analysis to lead process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives increasing overall throughput. Work with corporate engineering and customers to produce both internal samples and external samples, supporting quoting, designing tooling, build and produce to ship. Quote and support corporate engineering on new product RFQ's in collaboration with the sales team. Performs other related duties as assigned. Position Supervised or Directed: Reports to Plant Manager Qualifications, Experience requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Proficient in Solid Works designing tools, fixtures, gages and automation equipment Capable of designing 3d models Capable of drawing 2d prints Proficient in AutoCAD utilizing 2D drawings and developing line layouts/plant layouts Proficient in utilizing Windchill SAP Experience or ability to learn SAP Ability to utilize Microsoft Excel for data collection and analysis Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 100% verbal and written English skills. Detailed and hands-on oriented. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Troubleshooting expertise. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Must have basic knowledge of Tool Room Equipment, hand tools ect.. Must be able to use basic measuring equipment, tape measure, calipers, mics, etc. General Requirements: Able to travel to other divisions when required.
