Job Description
RFA Engineering (*************** is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise. We are seeking an experienced candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility.

Mechanical Design Engineer
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for finding, vetting, designing, and implementing cost reduction ideas into production. The support operates across product lines and vehicle systems (structures, hydraulics, powertrain, electrical, and cabs). Work with various product line specific design engineers to understand function and requirements
Responsibilities
Create models and prints utilizing proper model-based definition methods and GD&T
Ability to work with a large number of stakeholders and communicate project scope, status, changes, and challenges
Work with various suppliers and internal departments to facilitate part fit-up, testing, and start of production
Supporting fit ups on the factory floor and supporting new part testing as needed
Communicate project details across all levels of the organization
Manage multiple tasks and projects with different product groups
Requirements
Bachelors of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Agricultural Engineering or related degree
3+ years of demonstrated design or cost reduction experience.
Excellent communication both written and verbal
Demonstrated ability to meet get projects completed with minimal oversight
Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently

Knowledge and application of GD&T standards

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

As a Senior Project Engineer, you'll play a key technical and leadership role in designing transportation infrastructure projects that meet and exceed IDOT standards. The 2026 Weld Manufacturing Engineering Development Program gives recent engineering graduates three experiences over a two year period. The eight-month rotations include assignments in Weld OFP Manufacturing Engineering, Fabrication OFP Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling Engineering and Fabrication or Weld PDP- all possible at John Deere locations in the Midwest. Determine Right of Way (ROW) locations.

Meet with Project Designers to review project data and the ability to input that data into OCALC or similar software.
