The R&D Mechanical Engineer is expected to contribute independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, exercising sound engineering judgment and creative problem-solving. This position also includes reviewing patents, benchmarking competitive technologies, and identifying opportunities for innovation in design and material applications. Primary Responsibilities Design and develop molds and dies based on material performance characteristics. Create and implement custom tools and fixtures to improve efficiency, repeatability, and process reliability. Develop capital charter proposals and manage the implementation of capital projects Create CAD drawings for new equipment / tooling Review and validate tool and mold requisitions to ensure compliance with required specifications and standards. Apply knowledge of material properties to optimize durability, functionality, and manufacturability of products. Conduct experiments, mechanical testing, and data analysis for validation of new and existing product lines. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and development teams to ensure seamless process integration and scalability. Research emerging technologies, materials, and industry trends to inform design decisions. Prepare engineering reports, technical documentation, and participate in cross-functional design reviews.
