They are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering leader to own manufacturing process design, scale-up, and production excellence for complex electromechanical systems.
This is a hands-on, on-site role (5 days/week) with high visibility and impact across product and manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and DFx across assembly, quality, and reliability
Define and implement robust manufacturing processes, including sequencing, critical parameters, and assembly recipes
Drive quality, repeatability, throughput, and yield in prototype and production environments
Act as a technical escalation point for production and contract manufacturing issues
Lead root cause analysis and data-driven continuous improvement initiatives
Design and validate prototype tooling and capital equipment, working with third-party equipment builders
Support new product introduction (NPI) and production ramp-up
Perform line balancing and capacity planning to meet takt time and throughput targets
Maintain process documentation and support engineering change management

Required Qualifications

Strong background in DFM, process development, and production scale-up

What we look for:
7+ years of software engineering experience, including leading large-scale system design and implementation
Strong programming experience in Java or Kotlin (preferred), with an emphasis on backend systems
Deep understanding of object-oriented design principles, design patterns, and test-driven development
Experience with cloud platforms, ideally AWS, and modern development practices like infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with modern front-end technologies (e.g., React, TypeScript) and willingness to contribute to full-stack solutions

Compensation and Benefits
The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below. In select locations (including, the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below.
The typical starting salary range for this role is: $174,500-$205,000.
The typical starting salary range for this role in the select locations listed above is: $185,000-$220,000.
Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amount listed above.

Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Engineer supports new programs by developing new processes, designing tooling and developing production controls. Responsible for the design of production tools and/or machines and for developing solutions to production problems relating to materials, processes, shop floor routing and tooling. Technical Functional Skills:

Manufacturing Engineer, Energy Storage
Essential Duties:
We are looking for a highly capable and hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to drive the development, optimization, and scaling of production lines for a complex high-voltage system. This system includes high-power electronics, thermal components, and electromechanical integration. You'll work closely with test engineering and product design teams to scale cost-effective, high-yield processes both in-house and at CMs.
Responsibilities Will Include:
Design and bring up new in-house assembly lines for NPI & volume production builds, including leading equipment validation, process documentation, and line readiness reviews
Establish takt-time targets and optimize line balance to meet efficiency & throughput goals
Troubleshoot issues on the line and drive corrective actions for yield, first-pass success rate, and build quality
Own DFM and DFT efforts, providing clear, actionable feedback to engineering
Collaborate with quality and test engineering to ensure process stability, traceability, and defect containment
Analyze production data and develop dashboards to identify trends, bottlenecks, and cost-reduction opportunities
Desired Qualifications:
B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related)
5 - 10 years of experience in production support or NPI for high-power electronics or electro-mechanical assemblies
Strong technical knowledge of SMT, reflow, box build, mechanical assembly, and HV safety processes
Ability to write and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and training document
Experience working with CMs on high-volume production environments
Familiarity with MES systems, Python/SQL for data extraction, or Lean Six Sigma certification
