In this role, you will support PPG's global packaging operations by providing technical support and optimization of plastic packaging solutions, collaborating with international subcontractors to troubleshoot and resolve production issues. This role is critical to ensuring high-quality, cost-effective packaging solutions, including injection molded components, meeting performance standards for a variety of global customers.
This role reports to the Business Director of Aerospace Packaging, and offers the flexibility of a hybrid schedule once you're fully trained.
Key Responsibilities
Create and manage technical documentation, including CAD models & drawings, specifications, and test reports
Conduct functional & dimensional testing to verify plastic packaging components and equipment comply with design and performance specifications.
Collaborate with subcontractors both domestically and internally to resolve manufacturing issues and improve production efficiency
Support root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for packaging defects or equipment failures
Work cross-functionally with Quality, R&D, and Operations teams to develop new products or improve legacy product designs
Support training on PPG's line of plastic packaging and operation of mixing & dispensing equipment
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering or related field (or experience in lieu of)
1+ year of experience in mechanical design, packaging engineering, or manufacturing processes
Fluent in Spanish
Mechanical aptitude - ability and experience using hand tools
Familiarity with pneumatic logic design and equipment operation
Proficiency in SolidWorks
Willingness to travel internationally up to 25% (primarily Mexico)

Requirements
The position requires a minimum of four years RF/Antenna design experience and/or a Masters, or Ph.D. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or related discipline. Excellent verbal/written skills are a must; capabilities in Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) design are a strong plus. Familiarity with standard numerical design and analysis tools such as Ansoft HFSS or CST Microwave Studio or equivalent is desired. Systems-level experience is also a plus.

The annual pay range for the Antenna Design Engineer position is $100,000 to $150,000.
The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on annual base compensation for the position, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives. Requirements: B.S. degree or equivalent work experience in Mechanical Engineering or related field, with an emphasis in internal combustion engines or electrified power trains and associated coursework such as fluid dynamics and thermodynamics.
5 years experience with development and testing of powertrains including test planning, procedure writing, data acquisition and analysis
Experience with powertrain or chassis dynamometer testing, data logging hardware and software, and test instrumentation a plus.
