EduCorps is undertaking a qualitative community-based study aimed at identifying/understanding the preparation and ongoing training of teachers in the four nations that make up the Great Lakes Region of Africa (DRC, Rwanda, Uganda, and Burundi). The results of this study will guide the programmatic actions of EduCorps and serve as a baseline against which results can be measured once EduCorps commences servicing schools in the target countries. The Lessard Laboratory is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated research associate to work on laboratory studies related to exercise physiology, nutrition, metabolism, and diabetes. The lab is located within the Center for Exercise Medicine Research (CEMR) in the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute (FBRI) in Roanoke Virginia. The successful candidate will work on NIH-funded research projects to determine how exercise training, in combination with dietary and pharmacological therapies, influence health and metabolism.
