Office of Enforcement - Pipeline Division The Pipeline Division regulates the use, end-use, conservation, and transportation facilities for movement of intrastate natural gas; regulates carbon dioxide pipelines and compressed natural gas fueling facilities; and they serve as clearing house to provide information to users of natural gas regarding the availability of supplies of natural gas. The Division is also responsible for a comprehensive pipeline safety inspection and enforcement program for both intrastate natural gas and hazardous liquids pipelines, and damage prevention enforcement on pipeline right-of-ways. JOB SUMMARY The Chemist is responsible for conducting chemical and physical laboratory tests using instrumental and wet techniques in making qualitative and quantitative analyses of solids, liquids and gaseous materials to ensure quality and regulatory standards are met for raw, in-process and finished petroleum materials. The Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy within the LSU Health Sciences Center is a large Basic Science department with a strong commitment to both academics and research. The department employs approximately 40 faculty, unclassified, classified, graduate students and other support staff. The incumbent in this position will work under minimal supervision by a senior faculty member on various research projects utilizing techniques and skills according to the project's protocol. The focus of the lab is to understand the functioning of the autonomic nervous system, in particular how it interacts with the immune system. The primary duties will involve histochemical analysis of neural tissue, biochemical measurements of hormone levels, weigh and anaesthetize small laboratory rodents, maintain records relative to physical condition and dissect, collect and prepare tissue samples for experiments.
