Educational Background:

Experience:

Hands-on experience with laboratory-scale bioreactors or high-throughput mammalian cell and protein workflows is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with suspension mammalian cell culturing, sterile technique, & kit-based biological assays.
Experience with robotic liquid handlers, Python programming, or cell characterization techniques is also a plus.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position assists the Production Engineering department through the review, analysis, and disposition of product and/or part processes. This position generates department documents (including Routers and Work Instructions) using various computer software programs. This position will interface with other departments as well as the occasional customer representative.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Disposition internal Discrepant Material Tags. This includes CMM reports and dimensional inspection reports.
* Generate effective part rework plans in a timely manner.
* Create and revise product and process related work instructions using various computer programs including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Create customer Material Review Board (MRB) documentation for submittal to customers.
* Review and release shipping documents for finished hardware.
* Perform root cause analysis to determine corrective actions for dimensional non-conformances and dimensions which lack adequate control.
* Contacts and coordinates activities with other Technicians, Engineers and Production personnel, may act as liaison with vendors and/or customers on specific issues.
* Identifies and addresses safety considerations within the scope of their job responsibilities.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Design work plans around method evaluation and development for yourself and others
Demonstrate a high level of professional expertise in one or more technical areas, preparing technical reports, summaries, and protocols
Prepare detailed scientific presentations and reports for clients, colleagues, and management, participate in customer discussions
Act as a mentor/coach for more junior Chemists
Key Requirements:
B.S./M.S. with experience relating to pharmaceutical formulation development and analytical chemistry
Experience with analyzing, and interpreting common analytical data used for amorphous pharmaceutical applications such as dissolution, GC, XRPD, HPLC, KF, and particle sizing
Experience in method development, qualification, and validation around common pharmaceutical analytical techniques
Knowledge of CMC and regulatory experience with advancing drug product formulations through later stage clinical trials encouraged
Must be a strong communicator, both verbally and in writing, and comfortable working in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary, research, and manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Observe and comply with good manufacturing and quality control laboratory practices.
Develop phase-appropriate quality control strategies for cleaning, raw materials, drug substances, drug product intermediates, and drug products.
Perform basic laboratory operations, operate analytical instrumentation, and support instrument qualification and verification activities.
Conduct and properly document the collection, interpretation, and results of data using good documentation and data integrity practices.
Direct and perform phase-appropriate analytical development, validation, and transfers of analytical methods.
Write, review and approve methods, method validations, and standard operating procedures.
Prepare and approve protocols, summaries, technical reports and quality reports.
Participate in change control processes and support investigations.
Coach, train and mentor colleagues, and interface directly with customers in areas of expertise.
Participate in internal, customer, and regulatory inspections.
Perform other duties as required
Key Requirements:
Requires a B.S. degree in chemistry or related scientific field
Some experience in chemistry, pharmaceutical formulation development, analytical chemistry, or related field, including relevant graduate school experience
