The Svendsen Laboratory at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Regenerative Medicine Institute is looking for personnel to join our dynamic group. The mission of the Svendsen Laboratory is to study neurodegenerative diseases such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Huntington's disease (HD), spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), Parkinson's disease (PD) and Allan-Herndon-Dudley syndrome (AHDS) using stem cells as a disease treatment, as well as a tool for modeling these diseases in vitro. Clive Svendsen, PhD, has significant experience in studying these diseases over the last twenty years and is merging his experience with the use of leading-edge technologies, such as inducible pluripotent stem cells (iPS cells). The incumbent should have an interest in the basic science of stem cells and neuroscience. By understanding how the cells grow and differentiate we will be able to produce a better cell for transplantation and develop techniques for disease modeling. Working under direct supervision, the Research Associate I will perform a variety of routine experimental protocols and procedures to support the objectives of one or more laboratory research projects in a specific area of research. Assists in general laboratory activities, including maintenance of reagents and stocking of supplies. Files and monitors documents. The RA I will be able to perform routine cellular, micro-and molecular biology procedures including, but not limited to Western, Northern blot, DNA/RNA, PCR, protein extraction, cell culture, Immunohistochemistry, and staining. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Keeps accurate and detailed project records of experiments and results.
May assist with animal husbandry.
Maintains lab equipment and related records.
Transports, processes and logs samples.
Maintains computer database with relevant clinical information.
Performs lab maintenance duties, including glassware cleaning and sterilization.
Maintains stocks of general lab materials, and places orders for lab equipment and supplies in a timely manner.
Assists new students and fellows at the laboratory.
Assists in the operation of specialized equipment and machinery.
Observes and follows safety standards and procedures.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in biological sciences is required.
Experience and Skills:
1-2 years of laboratory experience is preferred.
Understanding of general research objectives and familiarity with microscopy.
Knowledge of routine laboratory procedures, experimental protocols, and overall lab organization.
Working knowledge of database management, personal computers, and presentation and imaging software.
Must possess computer skills to include, but not limited to, Excel and Word.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
Function efficiently and cooperatively with a team of faculty, research associates, technicians and students.
Scheduling flexibility and timeliness including evening, weekend, and holiday rotation commitment. Travel may be required.

In this role, you will:
You will work closely with the research, fleet, silicon, hardware health, and external vendors and partners to accelerate system qualification, increase deployment velocity, and improve platform and fleet robustness at scale. You will focus on detailed evaluation and systematic testing of early hardware, including servers, racks, NICs, switches, chips, optics, transceivers, and other lab prototype equipment.
Your engineering work will span a broad range of software (systems, firmware, RDMA, collectives, cluster provisioning, orchestration, etc.) and/or hardware solutions (e.g., FPGA development) to manage lab infrastructure, support bring‑up activities and perform extensive characterizations of new hardware through microbenchmarking, fault injection, impairment modelling, localized stress testing, and end‑to‑end evaluations.

WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE
Manages all facets of the field-based R&D operation within the territory assigned.
Oversees management, training and recruitment of R&D employees.
Prepares, reviews and manages budgets and P&L statements for assigned profit center.
Manages and delegates assignments to appropriate R&D team members.
Manages and participates in the application and evaluation of experimental and standard products in agricultural and specialty business sectors for their efficacy and performance.
Actively identifies and establishes relationships with development, technical service and Sales Representatives for the recruitment of study assignments within territory.
Establishes relationships with Helena field teams and growing community for placement of studies within territory.
Serves as a technical lead for the development and launch of new technologies within assigned territory.
Actively identifies new technology and methods for field development of products in agricultural and specialty markets with inclusion of phenotyping, drones, software systems and other new technologies.
Reviews and compiles collected data and reports and communicates reports/findings to appropriate departments, vendors, academia, customers and others as needed. This includes making presentations at sales, training, supplier and professional meetings.
Represents Helena at professional societies, outreach activities, grower and sales meetings, field days and other functions.
May be required to drive a company vehicle.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree, preferably in agronomy, weed science, entomology, pathology or related discipline is required.
Master's degree or PhD is preferred.
Three years of related work experience is required.

Must have QAL (Qualified Applicators License) or will need to obtain immediately.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Intermediate understanding of statistics and data analysis is required.

The Liman laboratory (********************************** seeks a Research Lab Technician I to support NIH-funded studies aimed at understanding cellular and molecular mechanisms of taste sensation and ion channel biophysics.
The laboratory recently discovered a new family of ion channels (Tu et al , Science, 2018). One of the members of this family, OTOP1, functions in taste cells as the sour receptor. The function of OTOP channels that are expressed outside the taste system is still largely mysterious. The laboratory has also collaborated to solve the structure of OTOP1 and OTOP3. The researchtechnician will support ongoing studies to follow up on these exciting new results and have the opportunity to conduct independent work if so desired. This position is based in the Neurobiology section of the department of Biological Sciences, on the beautiful University Park Campus of USC, close to downtown LA.
Position responsibilities:
The researchtechnician will be involved in all aspect of lab maintenance and will supervise other lab members as needed. Candidates should have experience in molecular and cell biology within a research environment. Job duties may include generation of new plasmid DNA constructs, immunohistochemistry and maintenance of transgenic mouse lines and tissue culture cells. The successful applicant should have a demonstrated ability to keep careful notes, troubleshoot experiments and communicate effectively with other members of the team The applicant will have the opportunity to learn new techniques and to participate in other enrichment activities and will be eligible for a generous benefits package.

Research and development technician job in Sacramento, CA
Under general guidance, the Administrative Research Associate III works closely with PI, providing technical and/or administrative support in large or multi-project oriented labs. May be requested by PI to take on specific supervisory activities, and provide administrative leadership, and/or technical expertise. May develop hypothesis and assist in planning steps for the investigative process. Will review and remain current on literature as it relates to clinical/research study. Coordinates all lab and/or clinical activities, including but not limited to, budgetary/financial compliance, preparation of grant proposals, and creating independent presentations. Not responsible for generating grant funds.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Provides miscellaneous clinical/research support (ad hoc data analysis, hypothesis development, programming, troubleshooting, etc.).
Organizes clinical/research trials in conjunction with the Principal Investigator and sponsor and/or funding source.
Monitors and ensures compliance with safety standards and procedures
Analyzes data and prepares scientific findings for publication as author or co-author.
May make independent presentations
May provide system administration and maintenance for the local workstation network.
Leads and trains Research Lab Assistants, Research Fellow, lower level Research Associates, and other related support staff and may be requested by PI to take on specific supervisory activities.
Orients new Research Fellows and/or Research Scientists to day-to-day lab operations and procedures.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
Requires a bachelor's degree in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry or related science field.
Experience:
Two (2) years minimum experience in research specialty required
Three (3) years of research lab experience required
Department Specific Experience:
Strong aseptic technique
Molecular laboratory techniques such as RNA isolation, DNA synthesis, PCR, Western blotting, Gel Electrophoresis, and cell culture.
Experienced in handling and working with small laboratory animals, mouse is preferred.
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Good written and verbal communication
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications
Education, Experience & Skills:
Bachelors in Science in a related field required.
Three (3) years of research laboratory experience required.
Two (2) years of experience in research specialty preferred.
Bench science experience in developmental biology, particularly using hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) in mouse models highly desired.
Animal handling experience is a must.
Prior lab management or lab operations experience is strongly preferred.
