Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Must be able to articulate what is observed while welding with respect to the arc and transfer characteristics, spatter, bead appearance, etc. and express how different products perform in a clear, meaningful manner.
At a minimum, must be capable of welding in all positions with FCAW and SMAW processes.
Must be willing and able to develop expertise with all arc welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, MCAW, FCAW, and SAW), and with all ‘families' of products in the Hobart Brothers portfolio.
Must be familiar with common welding codes AWS, ASME, and standard industry practices (welding techniques, welding procedure specifications, pre- and post-heating requirements, etc.).
Must be adaptable, and able to weld by following welding procedure requirements.
Willingness to travel (5% of time) as needed for customer visits, field testing, VOCs, etc.
Must learn to perform more specialized test methods and procedures.
These methods may include robotic welding systems, fume generation tests, deposition rate tests, hardness testing, hot- and cold-cracking tests, diffusible hydrogen testing, etc.
Minimum Qualifications

Graduates of the 9-month welding program at HIWT or equivalent vocational training program preferred or extended form of in-house apprenticeship.

Toyota's Electrical Research Department (ERD) is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Quantum Photonics Senior Scientist.
The primary responsibility of this role is to research quantum photonics phenomena and their application to integrated photonics.
The person in this role will report to the Senior Engineering Manager of ERD and have a passion for approaching new problems with novel solutions in quantum integrated photonics for sensing (such as magnetometry, temperature field, or device prognostics), communications (such as entangled pair generation, single photon emission, or squeezed light analysis), and consideration of integration of non-linear effects or active devices.
What you'll be doing
Research quantum photonic concepts in scientific literature, down-select best approaches to apply to outstanding applications and suggest novel extensions or brand-new methodologies.
Apply integrated photonic methods and techniques to exploit quantum phenomena in chip-scale packages to target mobility applications.
Create simulation, validation, and packaging plans to meet research-level timelines targeting state-of-the-art performance parameters.
Collaborate with foundry vendors to understand technology stack potential, meet design submission timelines and coordinate design rule checks.
Coordinate with other group members and vendors to ensure successful co-integration of electronic control of photonic circuits, including high speed signals and chip to chip packaging.
Plan, build, and manage photonic and/or quantum measurement and validation test benches in our lab.
Publish your results in competitive scientific journals and conferences.
Stay abreast of the most recent advancements in scientific literature related to quantum integrated photonics and its applications.
Communicate research results, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and through visualizations.
Project Management: Plan, execute, and monitor project timelines toward goal achievement. Provide status and engage regularly with stakeholders, including reports to Japanese counterparts up to the executive level.
Facilitate communication with university research partners to obtain status updates and help guide project progress towards phase goals.
Mentor junior-level members in best research practices.
What you bring
Doctoral degree in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, or equivalent.
Expertise in simulation of integrated photonic components using commercially available FDTD solvers (ex. Lumerical, tidy3d, etc.).
Ability to leverage electronic design automation (EDA) to execute performance analysis on photonic integrated circuits and transfer design to artwork appropriate for design submission.
Strong understanding of quantum theory and quantum effects and their control/generation through nonlinear or active photonics.
Understanding of subsystem integration (e.g. Tx, Rx, Processor, Memory) into quantum photonic systems and system analysis.
Ability to accurately judge efficacy of quantum approaches to various mobility applications.
Wide experience in design and setup of photonic lab benches and experimental automation to ensure measurement repeatability and minimize measurement time.

The Laboratory of Liman Zhang is seeking a full-time ResearchTechnician to be a key part of our research team. Dr. Zhang's research uses structural biology to uncover the molecular mechanisms of immunological processes. By combining cryo EM and biochemistry the lab studies inflammasome assembly during pathogen-host interactions and cancer development.
In this role, you will be provided training for the following responsibilities:
* Lead a research project to master skills in molecular cloning and protein science.
* Opportunity to learn structural biology and cryo EM techniques.
* Establish and maintain high-standard research practices.
* Practice scientific communication in and outside of the lab.
* Assist lab manager in supporting the lab's daily function, including purchasing laboratory supplies, monitoring supplies, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
* Provide Core Services, including buffer preparation and cell line maintenance.
Successful candidates for this position will have the following qualifications:
* Bachelor of Science in Cell/Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related biomedical fields
* At least one (1) year of wet lab bench experience is preferred but not required.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and patience
* Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as an active member of an integrated team
* Demonstrable written and oral communication skills

POSITION SUMMARY:
This lab-based position will perform all phases of chemical testing of raw material, in-process, and finished product control samples and perform analytical testing following the written procedures in place. Chemists will assist the QC Supervisor and Technical Department with various QC functions on daily basis for the successful and smooth functioning of the QC unit as a whole.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform raw material, in-process, finished product, and stability sample testing using instrumental analytical, wet chemicals, and physical analytical methods and techniques following the written procedure or compendial methods; Prepare analytical equipment for experiments; Including reagents, standards, test solutions, and mobile phase as required by the test procedure.
Document testing results in lab notebooks; Ensure the data generated is accurate and meets the specifications, report results on the testing worksheets (finished products and raw materials) according to standard operating procedures in a timely manner, meeting specified deadlines.
Maintain laboratory notebooks, equipment logbooks, and trackers on daily basis in accordance with department policies and procedures.
Perform/Assist in Raw Material sampling and retain storage and distribution. Receive, organize, store (retains/stability), and send out raw materials and finished products as per company policy and procedures.
Effectively manage the prioritization to meet multiple goals and timelines
Conduct laboratory housecleaning and upkeep, maintain and promote a safe and orderly work area.
Participate in QC method development, overall improvement, and other work/duties as assigned. Performs other miscellaneous duties as required.
Adhere to established validated methods, company procedures, cGMP, cGLP, OSHA, and other regulatory procedures.
Ability to handle hazardous materials using all appropriate or mandatory safety PPE and safety equipment.
Facilitates and supports activities and services necessary to the routine operations of the department, as assigned.
Provide guidance, and training to new or existing personnel as required by QC management.
Maintain by frequently updating the various spreadsheets and trackers to correctly reflect the current status of items.
Performs other miscellaneous duties as required.
Support by suggesting, authoring, and reviewing notebooks, and various QC and technical documents such as SOPs, testing worksheets, CoAs, Product Specs, Raw Material Specs, and other QC/R&D documents as required.
Notify any aberrant/OOS/OOT results to QC management and participate to investigate results following the SOP.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
BS in Chemistry, Biology or related sciences
One to two years of experience in chemical laboratory operations
Good lab/analytical technique in support of chemical and manufacturing operations
Experience or understanding of pharmaceutical laboratory equipment, including HPLC, UV-Vis, AAS, KF, IR,
Potentiometer, LOD, and Titration.
Familiarity with cGMPs and GLPs
Strong math skills; knowledge of intermediate statistics
Strong attention to detail
Strong problem solving and analytical skills including decision analysis and implementation
Computer literacy, working knowledge of spreadsheets
Strong ability to function as a team member; ability to communicate effectively with team members and other plant personnel, both verbally and in writing
