We are looking for an Agricultural Research Intern and in this position, you will support the research activities for sugar beet seed developments. You will assist with the overall management of research plots and develop operational knowledge in the area of seed research. The position is located in Kimberly, ID.
Essential job functions:
* Assist with data collection in field trials, such as stand counts, stand ratings, and disease ratings.

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a well-qualified Electrocatalysis Modeling Postdoctoral Research Associate in Chemical Engineering or comparable discipline for the Hydrogen and Electrochemistry Department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off.
This postdoctoral researcher will focus on performing research and development activities associated with artificial intelligence (AI)/machine learning, and state-of-the-art computational tools (density functional theory, molecular dynamics, photon calculation, catalysis microkinetic analysis, multiscale molecular modeling, computational fluid dynamics, etc.) to study systems across diverse time and length scales for electrochemical processing and electrocatalysis.
Specifically, this position will conduct and lead computational characterization and development efforts supporting new electrochemical approaches to hydrogen generation, chemical and fuel synthesis, among other applications.
Responsibilities Include:
* Leads and contributes to INL's hydrogen program as well as other related projects.
* Supports the identification of new research opportunities, contributes to the direction of technical teams, can respond to research opportunities, and assists in the generation of technical proposals and securing funding for research activities.
* In consultation with PI, will establish research plans and experimental designs for research projects/programs. Assimilates and interprets laboratory data and employs knowledge, training, and experience to develop conclusions and theories.
* Serves as a technical resource to others and a liaison to other departments and external collaborators.
* Serves as both a generator and a contributor to the generation of reports, publications, proposals and intellectual property.
* Represents the department to sponsors and peers at program review, technical symposia, and other interface situations.
* Maintains frequent internal customer contacts, may have interface external to INL.
* Assists and supports department business planning and marketing efforts.
The candidate is expected to be a strong asset to our interdisciplinary R&D team and work effectively both alone and as a team member. The candidate must be self-motivated but also take direction from other team members and peers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Take the lead on the project management and execution according to the assigned project. Assure that field activities (planting, plot maintenance, bird netting, and harvest) for research plots are executed. This includes routine site/farm maintenance activities such as planting plots, applying treatments, collecting observations and in-season data, and maintaining the plots throughout the growing season. Fall activities include harvest stand counts and actual plot harvest
Support other Seed Parent Characterization, as well as agronomic trial activities at the home site
Develop and maintain two-way communication with project managers, Field Production Research (FPR) Scientists, Agronomists and Parent Seed colleagues at the home site. Additionally, look for communicating with people from different areas, from breeding all the way to commercial seeds production, aiming to gain a good understanding of the whole chain
Assist with managing and developing part time workers
Analyze data and prepare a research report and presentation for the assigned project
Lead daily routine equipment maintenance and preparation to ensure maximum precision in all treatment applications
Make sure all activities are developed according to the Company safety procedures and recommendations, and promote environmentally sustainable solutions

JOB TITLE:
Research Scientist Assistant
JOB PURPOSE:
Research Scientists are academic professionals whose primary responsibilities are to conduct and support research. UW Regulation 2-7 describes the activities that fall into this set of responsibilities for faculty; the same definition of research applies to Academic Professionals.
The successful Research Scientist will support a wide variety of agricultural research projects at the Powell Research and Extension Center (PREC), located in Powell, WY, as well as surrounding areas within the Big Horn Basin agricultural region. The incumbent will participate in designing, implementing, monitoring, and interpreting research studies across a wide range of agronomic subjects including, but not limited to, weed science, plant breeding, and plant pathology.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with PIs, graduate students, industry partners, and the PREC faculty and staff to help plan, implement, monitor, collect data for, interpret and harvest field research studies in plant science.
Act as liaison to facilitate cooperation and communication between off-campus faculty, students, and industry groups executing research activities at the PREC and the PREC farm crew.
Analyze and interpret experimental data for reporting and subsequent investigations.
Help prepare reports, presentations, and other research outputs and present data to relevant stakeholders.
Perform or supervise experiments to ensure safety, efficiency, and adherence to quality control standards.
Work closely with the PREC Director to ensure that research activities are being performed with scientific rigor and efficiency.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
Travel for additional learning opportunities to assist in designing, performing, and presenting research results and learning new methodologies.
Work cooperatively with station personnel, with a variety of agricultural-based tasks and responsibilities, including the application of pesticides.
Opportunity to mentor junior graduate students and interns.
Understand the operation and limitations of PREC field research equipment and operate equipment when needed.

Overview
The Analytical Research Assistant performs a wide variety of technical tasks in support of specific Melaleuca new or existing products, under the supervision of the R&D Senior Director of Innovation. Numerator Verified Voices In-Platform Research is a Do-It-Yourself online platform used by clients to execute survey research with tremendous speed and savings. Work with PIs, postdocs, graduate and undergraduate students, and collaborators to plan, implement, monitor, and interpret research studies in ecology and evolution.
Participate in research method development and project design.
Collect, organize, and manage data from field studies, laboratory work, and collaborators.
Conduct statistical analyses.
