The Chemistry Department is known as a leader in research at UNT. We seek a physician who will help our Center achieve our goal of working with our community partners to develop clinical, educational and research initiatives intended to help children and adults in north Texas stay mentally healthy. The research faculty will assist department leadership in implementing and leading a research strategy for mood disorders research that supports the recruitment of diverse high-caliber faculty who will enhance our scientific efforts.
Increasing the Department's leadership in clinical and translational research funding is a high priority for this position. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of excellence in mood disorders research; specifically, academic, and scholarly accomplishments commensurate with the criteria for appointment at the academic rank of associate or full Professor at UTSW. However, appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
The successful candidate's appointment within the Department of Psychiatry also requires regular participation in educational activities with medical students and residents.
