We are seeking a highly motivated and exceptional Postdoctoral Fellow to join the Myers Laboratory at UTHealth Houston. This full-time position is funded by the NIH and is available immediately. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research regarding the toxicokinetics and toxicodynamics of areca nut alkaloids. This will include traditional drug metabolism and drug interaction experimentation, extensive work in rodent models, and assessment of toxicity in novel cell culture models.
The ideal candidate will be required to perform experimental work, carry out experimental data analysis, oversee/direct projects, and, where needed, guide and assist other researchers in the laboratory. The candidate will also be expected to rapidly develop independence in research activities and drive the preparation and publication of peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts. Additionally, the successful candidate is expected to actively contribute to the generation of innovative research ideas and paths to support future grant applications.

Participate in fishery-independent surveys of queen conch populations by traveling to
selected jurisdictions and safely conducting SCUBA diving and snorkel operations as

and Safety Manual and follow any additional instructions from the Unit Dive Supervisor
at the Galveston Lab
Maintain diving proficiency and current status as a NOAA diver
Assist project Principal Investigators (PIs) with resource surveys and sample collection

Enter data collected in the field and in the lab into approved formats and database
applications, conduct quality control reviews of entered data sets, store hard copies in

Postdoctoral Research Fellow - Nurturing Resilience Initiative/TCHATT
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHealth Houston) is seeking a psychology post-doctoral fellow interested in clinical and research training in child and adolescent psychology. Clinical and research training will focus on youth receiving school-based tele-mental health services and children/families who are participating in community-based social-emotional skills groups and evidence-based parenting programs.
Applicants must have a PhD in psychology. This is a hybrid position in which postdoctoral fellows will deliver services via telemedicine and in-person at community sites in Harris and Fort Bend Counties.
Trainees will choose between one of two tracks within the postdoctoral fellowship, with one track focusing on school-aged youth and the other track focusing on early childhood and parenting. The school-age track includes the delivery of brief social emotional groups at Boys and Girls Club and YMCA locations. The second track includes a focus on early childhood with postdoctoral fellows delivering relational-focused parenting classes to caregivers of children under 6 years old. Both tracks include research and training opportunities and can be customized to individual professional goals.
General educational activities include weekly didactic activities, journal clubs, writing clubs, meetings with senior researchers, workshops on grant writing, and individualized career development plans. Scholarly activities are integrated into the fellowship training.

Position Information
We are seeking a Research Assistant in the AgriLife Research and Extension Center in Overton responsible for managing the beef productive physiology laboratory and performs quantitative analysis of blood sera for hormones using radioimmunoassay procedures.
Responsibilities:
Duties will include but are not limited to:
* Coordinate and conduct endocrine assays, tissue culture, extraction of DNA and RNA, and protein gel electrophoresis,
* Maintenance of inventory and purchasing of supplies and equipment,
* Prepare chemical solutions,
* Train and supervise graduate and undergraduate students in safe laboratory procedures,
* Assist in blood and tissue collection, animal surgery, and experiment-related animal husbandry procedures.
* Responsible for working with a variety of scientists, including principal investigators, graduate students, and technical support staff.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
* B.S. in relevant field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
* Must be able to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and use computer applications (including Microsoft Office).
* Understanding and experience with livestock handling estrous synchronization protocols or willingness to be trained is required.
* Experience and training in the use of radioisotopes or willingness to be trained is required.
* Experience in molecular biology and/or cell culture is desirable as is experience performing RIAs.
* Must possess effective interpersonal relations skills
* Ability to establish effective working relationships.
* Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Master of Science degree.
* One year of related experience.
* Experience in molecular biology techniques such as RNA/DNA isolation, small RNA sequencing, and real-time RT-PCR is desired.
