Function/Duties of Position
The ResearchAssistant 2 provides technical and operational support for
in vivo
translational research studies involving nonhuman primate models of retinal and neurodegenerative disease. Working under the supervision of the Senior Research Project Manager and principal investigators, this position performs a variety of research-related tasks including animal observation, imaging and behavioral testing support, sample collection and processing, and basic data entry and analysis. The incumbent assists with day-to-day laboratory operations and ensures that experimental procedures are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with OHSU and ONPRC regulatory standards. This is a hands-on, laboratory-based role ideal for individuals pursuing advanced experience in biomedical and translational research. The ResearchAssistant 2 functions as a critical technical member of the team, ensuring the consistency and reliability of experimental operations that support the laboratory's broader scientific goals.
Key Responsibilities & Performance Standards:
Laboratory and Research Support:
Conduct routine laboratory and
in vivo
experimental procedures under established protocols, including preparation of surgical and imaging supplies, assistance during anesthesia and recovery, and documentation of animal behavior and health observations. Support retinal imaging, electrophysiology, and behavioral testing sessions by preparing equipment, recording data, and maintaining accurate procedural logs.
Sample Processing and Data Entry:
Collect, label, and process blood and tissue samples according to biosafety and IACUC-approved procedures. Enter and organize data into laboratory databases and spreadsheets, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with data-quality standards.
Equipment and Supply Management:
Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment. Assist with ordering and organization of materials required for ongoing studies. Ensure workspaces and instruments are cleaned, calibrated, and in compliance with safety and quality-control standards.
Animal Welfare, Compliance, and Collaboration:
Assist with animal care coordination and health monitoring under veterinary oversight. Maintain awareness of institutional policies governing animal research and adhere to all environmental, biosafety, and occupational health requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The ResearchAssistant 2 works primarily in a biomedical research laboratory and animal facility environment at the Oregon National Primate Research Center (ONPRC).
The position involves daily exposure to laboratory equipment, biological samples, and animal research settings, including nonhuman primates.
Work requires strict adherence to biosafety, animal welfare, and environmental health regulations, as well as the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as lab coats, gloves, masks, and eye protection.

The Data Science Initiative (DSI) is seeking qualified applicants for its open research pool. DSI is currently working to develop its undergraduate and graduate programs.
Positions are limited duration, funding contingent appointments that are part time or short term contracts not to exceed one year, with the possibility of renewal up to a total of three years. Renewals will be dependent upon program needs, funding, and performance. Salary will be dependent upon education, experience, and available funding.
Open positions will include researchassistants, research associates, research scientists, research professors, or post doctoral scholars.
ResearchAssistant positions will conduct research under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI). In addition, to further research learning, the researchassistant will receive an annual performance evaluation. The Research Technician will ensure the Research Station, functions efficiently by performing a variety of duties to maintain and operate the facilities, equipment and farmland. Supports the Station Manager and other scientists on station with scheduling and resourcing research activities and ensuring efficient, functional execution of research activities. Support off-station field plot location growing activities. Primary crops under development include camelina and other oilseeds crops for the renewables energy markets and dietary supplement for livestock feeding markets.
The successful candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture preferred, or up to 5 years of related ag production or field research experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain an Idaho Private Applicator License (within 3 months of hire).
Experience with agricultural practices including soil and irrigation management, fertility, weed control, and safe equipment operation.
Proficiency operating field equipment (e.g., tractors, planters, sprayers, harvesters) and ability to work with GPS/electronic controls.
Basic equipment and facility maintenance skills.

Chick-fil-A Ten Mile & Vanguard is seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our Overnight Team. As an Overnight Team Member, you will work collaboratively with a small team of 2-3 people to ensure that our restaurant operates smoothly and efficiently during the overnight shift. Your responsibilities will cover both Front-of-House (FOH) and Back-of-House (BOH) tasks, ranging from cleaning and maintenance to food prep and machine setup. If you are a self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic, we will provide training to ensure you are equipped with the skills needed for this role. Our Overnight Leader will train the tasks for this position.
Responsibilities:
Front-of-House (FOH):
Clean primary and secondary chutes.
Maintain cleanliness of counters, including ice-cream machines (complete shut down every night).
Clean and maintain lemonade machines (Tues & Wed - 3 bubblers).
Sweep, mop, and clean floors in key areas: behind counter, dining room, and restrooms.
Sanitize restrooms and play area.
Take out trash as needed.
Break down and clean any necessary dishes.
Back-of-House (BOH):
Cleaning breading tables
Monitor and maintain pressure fryers and open fryers.
Clean and sanitize grill surfaces and kitchen counters.
Stock chicken and prepare filets
Scrub and mop kitchen floors.
Wash dishes, including utensils and kitchenware.
Slice tomatoes and prepare lettuce and tomato patties.
Prepare lemonade and stock mac n' cheese.
Bake and package cookies and brownies.
Assist with unloading and putting away truck deliveries.
Set-Up (for the next day):
Front-of-House (FOH):
Assemble and fill ice cream machines.
Assemble and fill lemonade machines (if needed).
Brew 4 total tea batches.
Take chairs down from tables for the next day.
Back-of-House (BOH):
Turn on key kitchen machines (pressure fryers, open fryers, ovens, egg griddles, chutes, warming stations).
Set up breading tables for the next shift.
Prepare milk wash for the next day's chicken prep.
Prep and stock grilled chicken for the following day.

Function/Duties of Position
Work on research experiments relating to the Cell Fusion project or Stem Cell investigations as assigned by Dr. Melissa Wong. These studies will include a variety of technical approaches including: cell culture, live-cell imaging, FACS and characterization of cell phenotypes, as well as murine intestinal stem cell analyses in tissue or cell culture.
Sample collection and processing. Interaction with clinical staff to facilitate identification and collection of samples. Possible consenting of patients onto IRB approved protocol.
Perform data analyses and entry and maintain data files on research projects utilizing various platforms (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, RedCap, ca Tissue, ClinPortal, and others).
Mouse husbandry and experimentation.
Immunohistochemical analyses, cell culture.
General Lab maintenance, including preparation of buffers and stocks, cleaning and organizing dishware, and racking and autoclaving tips/tubes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree (4 yr) with major courses in field of research/No Experience. OR
AA (2 yr) and 3 years of relevant experience.

Must have excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills: both written and verbal.

Exposure as part of this position may include toxic chemicals and drugs, human tissues and fluids, small animal work (mice) including tissue preparation, depending on the experiments performed.

The successful candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture preferred, or up to 5 years of related ag production or field research experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain an Idaho Private Applicator License (within 3 months of hire).
Experience with agricultural practices including soil and irrigation management, fertility, weed control, and safe equipment operation.

This recruitment will be used to fill five part-time (a maximum of 20 hours per week) Undergraduate ResearchAssistant positions for the School of Civil & Construction Engineering at Oregon State University (OSU).
The School of Civil and Construction Engineering is recruiting Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering Management, and Architectural Undergraduate ResearchAssistants.
Transferable Skill Development Position Duties
Students will partner with faculty to identify a research topic. It is anticipated that the students will work up to 10 hours per week during the fall, winter, and spring terms.

* Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
* Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
* Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
* High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
* Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
* Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
* Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
* Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
* International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications
* Students must be enrolled in the Civil, CEM, or ARE program and interested in participating in research
* Must be able to work up to 10 hours a week and participate in the program during the F/W/S terms

The Regenerative Engineering and Rehabilitation lab of Dr. Karina Nakayama, in the Department of Biomedical Engineering, is recruiting a talented researchassistant to join our team. The RA2 will participate in translational studies to evaluate tissue engineered therapies and regenerative materials in small animal injury and exercise models to achieve the goal of musculoskeletal functional recovery. Specifically, they will perform and assist with animal studies, fabricate biomaterials, perform in vitro assays and cell culture, imaging, as well as help with the daily functions of the lab. This position will involve working on collaborative team projects composed of engineers, biologists and clinician scientists.
Function/Duties of Position
Research
Conduct experiments using in vitro assays and small animal models including: animal injury and exercise models, cell and tissue culture, molecular biology and protein assays, histology, fluorescence microscopy, and image processing.
Data Analysis & Recording
Generate data and perform quantitative analysis using the above techniques/protocols
Maintain detailed records of all experimental procedures, data collection and analysis using best practices.
Give oral presentations of research findings at group meetings and assist in the write up of results for publication.
Use computer software to input and manage data for analysis.
Lab Function
Assist with the daily functions of the laboratory including monitoring and purchasing laboratory supplies and communicating with external personnel including vendors and severing as a point of contact for equipment and services.
Assist with lab-wide compliance with all safety regulations and create clear and detailed SOPs to support laboratory operations.
Serve as a strong individual contributor and also participate as a collaborative team member.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's in relevant field OR
Associate's AND 3 years of relevant experience OR
4 years of relevant experience OR
Equivalent combination of training and experience.
Prior experience working in a translational research settting.
Hands-on wet lab research experience with in vitro assays and cell culture.
Knowledge of animal models.
Knowledge of immunofluorescent staining and microscopy techniques.
Ability to multi-task and adjust/adapt to project developments; prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines on concurrent projects; organize and execute a variable workload.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's or advanced degree or equivalent experience in life sciences, medical sciences, bioengineering, or related field.
Prior training in animal models, biomaterials, cell culture, and/or molecular biology.
Experience working with animal models.
Experience in chemistry and/or material synthesis.

We are seeking two forestry research technicians for a research project investigating the impacts of wildfire on managed, multi-aged Douglas-fir stands in western Oregon. These hires will collect data to help improve our understanding of how forest structure and management history impact wildfire effects and forest resilience in Douglas-fir/western hemlock forests of the western Cascades.
