DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Research Analyst 1, you will be responsible for conducting research to identify trends and make recommendations for promotions and improvements to the Lottery's product portfolio or departmental policies or procedural changes. You will also participate in systems analysis and operational research studies to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of current programs, policies, and systems, in addition to assisting with developing recommendations based upon study findings.
This professional gathers data from extensive and varied sales reports and other sources, monitors individual game sales' performance, analyzes sales and promotional activity in an effort to identify successful or underperforming Lottery products or marketing strategies, and drafts reports of findings including recommendations that would increase sales and recommendations of new game marketing techniques and strategies. Strong organizational skills are implemented to maintain analytical reports for marketing, products, retail operations, and the executive office.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of professional marketing, advertising, sales, or merchandising experience; and a bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, business administration, data science, economics, or a related field; or
Five years of experience in managing a retail business, servicing retail sales accounts, or marketing products to retail accounts, which includes sales, advertising, marketing communications, product research, or promotion.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Criteria:
Experience in data analysis, data modeling and data visualization.
Proficient navigating Excel and Tableau.
Lottery or gaming industry experience.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia's Research department is seeking an undergraduate level student, preferably a rising Junior or rising Senior with an Economics major and with research experience, however, students with non-economics major with similar knowledge and skills may also be considered. This is a paid internship (Monday- Friday, 40 hours per week) for our summer internship program (typically 10 weeks). The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 per hour. This is an on-site opportunity.
Intern projects: (but not limited to)
(1) The research project is trying to document and understand how vehicle purchases responded to past stimulus checks, using the data on economic stimulus payments during the previous three recessions (2001, 2008, 2020).
(2) The intern will download the Consumer Expenditure Survey (CE) during the last three recessions, together with the special data modules related to the stimulus payments, merge and clean the data following the series of work by Jonathan Parker and his coauthors, compute the response of vehicle purchases to stimulus payment receipts of each household. This step requires running complex regressions to identify the response of vehicle purchases to stimulus payments in a messy dataset.
(3) After computing the average response of households, the intern will investigate how the responses are different according to various characteristics of households (age, sex, race, family composition, income, liquid wealth holding, etc).
(4) The intern will write up the results. The intern also has a chance to present the findings within the Bank. Ideally there will be a short research paper out of the projects.
Skillset/Job Requirements:
Knowledge in economics and statistics/econometrics.
Experience with large dataset and statistical software (such as R or Stata) to process the dataset.
Academic writing is a plus since the intern will be working on an academic research project.
Soft Skills:
The intern will mainly work on an academic research project with their reporting Economist.
Good communication skills are required.
The intern will be working on a large dataset and will also be writing computer code to process and analyze the dataset.
Intern with active problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and basic organization skills are desired.
Physical Requirements:
May be require sitting and using a computer for long hours.

Carnegie Mellon's Department of Chemical Engineering (CHEG) is seeking a part-time ResearchAssistants for the Torres research lab. In this role, the ideal candidate(s) will provide support on multiple research projects, gathering data and training students. This is a fixed-term position of up to 3 months and is inclusive of competitive salary and benefits.
Responsibilities:
Follows research plans in order to collect, record, and manipulate research data. Maintains accurate and detailed research records and files.
May test software prototypes. May interact with research subjects in order to perform job functions.
Performs basic data analysis in order to product reports. Documents results and processes.
Performs library research and field explorations.
Performs related duties as assigned.

Candidate Qualifications
Qualified applicants will have Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degrees, demonstrating the ability to develop an independent, extramurally funded research laboratory.

Research assistant job in Spring House, PA
The candidate should have a BS/MS in biological sciences with research experience in cellular immunology and/or cell biology including significant hands-on experience performing cell culture and following proper aseptic technique. The successful candidate will be able to apply different research techniques in the work including immune cell isolation, immune cell culture, ELISA, MSD, and luminex assays. Experience with assays using purified immune cells, T-cell culture, and hybridoma generation would be ideal. The candidate should have a good understanding of immunology and/or cell biology, be able work independently, have strong quantitative skills, and be familiar with basic data analysis software and data interpretation. Good organizational skills, experimental documentation, and a proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, highly matrixed, interactive environment is essential.
