The Research Associate II will serve as the Learning Opportunities Manager for the National Tribal Child Welfare Center for Innovation and Advancement (the Center), a five-year cooperative agreement funded by the Children's Bureau that provides training and technical assistance to Tribal child welfare programs across five priority areas: workforce supports, prevention programs, federal requirement support, tribal-state collaborations, and data management.
This position is responsible for leading the design and delivery of learning opportunities for Tribal child welfare programs on behalf of the Center, including webinars, virtual communities of learning, and peer-to-peer exchanges between Tribal programs. This position develops and facilitates engaging, culturally- grounded content; designs and implements activities that promote collaboration and knowledge sharing among child welfare programs; and monitors and reports outcomes for federal reporting and CQI purposes.

About the Opportunity
The Roux Institute at Northeastern University (NU) and the Jackson Laboratory (JAX) are seeking a ‘co-mentored' postdoctoral fellow as part of a new JAX/Roux Institute joint Applied Data Science Postdoctoral Fellowship program. Under this program, the postdoctoral trainee will be co-mentored by NU and JAX researchers working on “Grand Challenges” identified by Roux and JAX executive leadership. These Grand Challenges are jointly selected programs that enhance the JAX/Roux partnership, align with each institution's strategic priorities, and integrate biological and data science.
This cycle's grand challenge focus is on Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias.
The position will be located at The Roux Institute at Northeastern University, in Portland, Maine, where JAX has a co-located JAX Portland research site.
The postdoc will contribute to and help lead projects related to the development and validation of models in the precision health domain that aim at diagnosing various types of disease and recommending optimal treatments for patients. The position will be supervised by Research Professors and will be conducted with experimental researchers who are collaborating partners of the Roux Institute and will include opportunities for collaboration with other faculty at the Roux Institute and other colleges at Northeastern University.
This project will involve Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD) and the cerebrovascular deficits that occur prior to hallmark pathologies such as amyloid plaques and neurofibrillary tangles of TAU, neuronal dysfunction and cognitive decline. Tracking cerebrovascular health in at-risk, but cognitively normal individuals will greatly facilitate early detection of those most at risk of developing dementia, allowing the opportunity for early intervention. We are performing complementary human and mouse studies to evaluate plasma biomarkers in combination with retinal vascular health as biomarkers for ADRD. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join this exciting collaborative research program that builds upon existing strengths in ADRD biology and genetics (JAX) and bioinformatics methods and machine learning approaches (Roux) to evaluate novel biomarkers for ADRD.

As part of the Operations Department/Bull Crew, you will assist in the arena conversion from ice hockey to multi-purpose use for concerts, trade shows, comedy acts, monster trucks, Disney on Ice, etc.
Duties include:
Assume management responsibility for all services and activities involved in the operations of all venue and exhibition & convention spaces
Perform ice maintenance including maintaining depth and quality
Ice sheet installation/removal - ice in, paint, logos/decals, tempering, flooding, leveling
Perform day-to-day building operations, maintenance and special projects
Work with Operations Department and Bull Crew to convert arena from hockey rink to concert/tradeshow/conference
Assist event production/management with show requests
Oversee/monitor changeover and housekeeping crews, provide team support as required
Maintains departmental equipment; notify Operations Manager when repairs are needed
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients
Ensure staff is working safely and are aware of proper safety guidelines

The Core Research Technician/Associate will join a motivated team in the UNE Behavior Core to provide a comprehensive approach to the research needs of UNE researchers and the external research community. The UNE Behavior Core provides both comprehensive services for in vivo research needs as well as training in behavioral neuroscience using the highest level of expertise, training and instrumentation. Technicians/Associates are given opportunities to pursue training in sophisticated analysis of animal models used for biomedical research within neuroscience including analysis of learning and memory, anxiety and depression, addiction, chronic pain and pain relief. The technician/associate will work alongside the Core Manager to help conduct functions of the behavioral neuroscience research core facility (Behavior Core) as instituted by the Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) award from the NIH.

Responsibilities
* Performing rodent behavioral assays, surgical techniques, specialized injections and sample collection for experiments in neuroscience related fields
* Maintain complete and accurate observations and notes of all experimental procedures and results
* Assist with troubleshooting of behavioral assays and model development
* Maintain laboratory space in a clean and safe fashion
* Data entry, analysis and graphing for use in reporting results to clients and for presentation at meetings
* Training PI's, staff, and students in proper behavioral techniques and use of specialized instruments and software
* Maintaining equipment and ensure all equipment is running optimally
* Assist with inventory of laboratory supplies; ensure items are organized and properly labeled for use and checked for expiration dates
* Attend relevant trainings to further career development
* Represent the Behavior Core at local, regional and/or national meetings as needed
* Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications

Responsibilities:
