The Frank Lab at OHSU is seeking to recruit a Research Assistant 2 (RA 2) to conduct research on leveraging chemical probes to interrogate cannabinoid signaling processes in the brain. Specifically, the RA 2 will be part of an interdisciplinary team studying cannabinoid signaling processes in cultured neurons and brain reward circuits. This NIDA-funded project utilizes cell culture, electrophysiology, and fluorescence experiments to make new discoveries. The ideal candidate for this position will have an advanced degree in neuroscience, physiology, chemical biology, or related field, and possess undergraduate-level knowledge of organic chemistry. An ideal candidate will have more than one year of research experience in experimental techniques in cell culture, whole-cell electrophysiology, fluorescence imaging and/or rodent stereotaxic surgeries and behavioral assays. The Beatty Lab at OHSU is seeking to recruit a Research Assistant 2 (RA 2) to conduct research using chemical probes to study bacterial pathogens. The RA2 will be part of an interdisciplinary team studying enzyme regulation in Mycobacterium tuberculosis and other mycobacterial species. The Dotter Department of Interventional Radiology serves as a beacon of both internationally recognized research and locally delivered advanced clinical care. The Dotter Department of Interventional Radiology is a part of the OHSU School of Medicine, with its own admitting service and clinic. We provide all the diagnostic angiographic, interventional radiologic, and neurointerventional services to the OHSU and VA Hospitals. The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. The individual hired for this position will serve as research faculty and lab manager for the Dotter Memorial Research Laboratory at the Dotter Institute. The role of the lab manager is to carry out and facilitate the educational and research projects at the Institute. This will be done under the supervision of the Director of Research, and the Director of the Institute overall. Activities include coordination of clinical and translational lab research, including protocol design, preparation and execution. The Dotter research lab offers additional educational workshops involving an animal model for which the lab manager is responsible to organize and conduct.
