Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Provides miscellaneous clinical/research support (ad hoc data analysis, hypothesis development, programming, troubleshooting, etc.).
Organizes clinical/research trials in conjunction with the Principal Investigator and sponsor and/or funding source.
Monitors and ensures compliance with safety standards and procedures
Analyzes data and prepares scientific findings for publication as author or co-author.
May make independent presentations
May provide system administration and maintenance for the local workstation network.
Leads and trains Research Lab Assistants, Research Fellow, lower level Research Associates, and other related support staff and may be requested by PI to take on specific supervisory activities.
Orients new Research Fellows and/or Research Scientists to day-to-day lab operations and procedures.
Qualifications
Educational Requirements:
Requires a bachelor's degree in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry or related science field.
Experience:
Two (2) years minimum experience in research specialty required
Three (3) years of research lab experience required
Department Specific Experience:
Strong aseptic technique
Molecular laboratory techniques such as RNA isolation, DNA synthesis, PCR, Western blotting, Gel Electrophoresis, and cell culture.
Experienced in handling and working with small laboratory animals, mouse is preferred.
Analytical and problem-solving skills

Los Angeles Cancer Network is seeking an Research Administrative Assistant to perform administrative support duties related to the collection of clinical data and/or the coordination of clinical studies. Work under supervision of the principal investigator and/or study coordinator/supervisor.
Duties include*:
Schedule and/or call subjects for appointments; contact participants with reminders or other requirements.
Prepare, distribute, and process questionnaires.
Perform clerical duties in the preparation of regulatory documents. Maintain all forms and documents, including consent forms and master subject logs. File all appropriate correspondence.
Assist with the screening, recruiting, and obtaining consent of study participants. Review medical records and/or perform telephone or in-person interviews to gather data, as needed.
Administer standard study questionnaires and tests, score test measurements and questionnaires, and code data for computer entry. Perform quantitative review of forms, tests, and other measurements for completeness and accuracy.
Extract data from source documents for research studies as directed. Collect data and complete case report forms.
Perform basic measurements and tests on patients according to protocol, such as obtaining vital signs and performing phlebotomy and EKG, after appropriate training/certification. Collect study specimens according to protocol.
Prepare, process, and ship specimens/samples accurately under well-defined requirements.
Conduct experiments in support of research projects in lab and maintain records of outcomes.
Order and maintain equipment and supplies.
Process study compensation payments and thank you letters to subjects upon completion of trial activities. Assist with post-study activities, as needed.

The Associate Research Professor will serve as an independent investigator within the translational hematopathology program led by Dr.

The successful candidate will develop a focused research program aligned with the laboratory's core themes, including leukemic stem cell biology, tumor suppressor pathways, cancer metabolism, and genetically defined models of leukemia and lymphoma.
The Associate Professor will be expected to secure independent extramural funding, publish high-impact research, and contribute to translational initiatives, including biomarker discovery and clinical trial correlative science.
The position involves mentoring trainees and junior scientists, supervising research staff, and serving as a key academic and operational leader in the laboratory.
The Associate Professor will also engage in interdepartmental collaboration through Beckman Research Institute programs, disease-focused research teams, and institutional strategic initiatives, advancing scientific discovery and translating it into meaningful innovations in cancer diagnostics and therapy.

As a successful candidate, you will:Lead and sustain an independent research program focused on hematologic malignancies, aligned with the laboratory's mission to advance discoveries in tumor suppressor biology, leukemia stem cell mechanisms, cancer metabolism, and translational pathology.
Design and execute hypothesis-driven studies using genetically engineered models, patient-derived samples, and multi-omic platforms to uncover therapeutic vulnerabilities and molecular biomarkers in leukemia and lymphoma.
Serve as principal investigator on extramurally funded grants; write and submit research proposals that build upon and complement existing programmatic support, contributing to the long-term scientific and financial sustainability of the program.
Mentor and supervise graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, junior faculty, and technical staff to ensure scientific rigor, data reproducibility, and career development in alignment with City of Hope's educational mission.
Drive translational research initiatives by leading correlative science for clinical trials, validating diagnostic or predictive biomarkers, and collaborating with clinicians to align research outcomes with patient care goals.

The CDU HIV Research Pillar and Drew Center for AIDS Research, Education, and Services (Drew CARES) have a vibrant track record of HIV-related research, training, and service delivery.
In collaboration with the Urban Health Institute, the CDU HIV Research Pillar and Drew CARES seek to recruit two faculty members for appointment at the academic rank of Assistant-to-Full Professor. Faculty rank will be determined based on experience and review of dossier material submitted. Recruited faculty members will have opportunities for research collaboration and mentorship with the new UCLA-CDU Center for AIDS Research (CFAR). The CFAR mission is to stop HIV in Los Angeles County and beyond by engaging diverse researchers with multidisciplinary perspectives.
The University is seeking investigators whose work combines HIV prevention, treatment, and/or health services research with any one or more of the following areas: substance use disorders, mental health, trauma, clinical informatics, hepatitis, cancer, cardiovascular disease, or mobile technologies. We seek investigators with research experience and interest in domestic issues related to Black and Latino populations OR international issues related to prevention and treatment services in Sub-Saharan Africa. Job Summary:
Responsible for recruiting patients over the phone as well as assisting with recruitment programs to increase referrals of participants for the various clinical research trials.â¯
Pay Range: $20.00 - $23.00/hr (Depending on education, experience, and skillset)
Scheduled Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (Occasional Saturdays only if requested for business demand)
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintain a professional relationship with potential study participants.
Performs the initial telephone screening of patients.
Schedule screening appointments in Clinical Conductor.
Make reminder phone calls as needed.
Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned. The above responsibilities are a general description of the level and nature of the work assigned to this classification and are not to be considered as all inclusive.
Education/Experience/Skills:
Minimum high school diploma.
1+ years of clinical research experience
Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Must be able to perform detail-oriented work and follow up on assignments.
Must have keyboarding and basic computer experience.
Must reflect the professional image of the company, upholding the company vision in actions, demeanor, and appearance.
Working Conditions
Indoor, Office environment.
Essential physical requirements include sitting, typing, standing, and walking.
Lightly active position, occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
Reporting to work, as scheduled, is essential.
