The ResearchAssistant will provide dedicated support to ongoing and new cardiac clinical research trials. The ResearchAssistant will have regular contact with the Research Committee, Investigators, Clinical research staff, clinical trial sponsors, and administrative staff. The successful candidate will exemplify our team values of integrity, collaboration, and reliability.
Responsibilities:
Consent, Screen, recruit and enroll participants for medical studies by interviewing potential participants and reviewing medical history to determine if eligibility requirements are met.
Evaluate potential study participants to ensure they meet eligibility requirements; instruct study participants concerning research protocol and complete the patient informed consent procedure.
Schedule and/or perform medical testing per protocol.
Assess participants during clinic visit; perform initial review of study lab results; procedures; update medications; determine if patient is experiencing side effects or other problems; notify principal investigator if problems arise.
Complete case report forms for each study participant, and document medical data in the patient record and sponsor database. Ensure case report forms or other data collection/tracking tools are created if not provided by sponsor.
Communicate professionally with physicians, hospital partners and sponsors regarding studies.
Cross coverage of duties as described above at satellite sites as assigned.
Weekend and evening departmental support may be required to meet study protocol requirements.
Provide back-up support for other research coordinators and protocols as requested.
Participate in Sponsors site visits for assigned studies.
Occasional out-of- town or state travel may be required for sponsor training
Requirements:
Associates degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
A minimum of 2 years' experience in interaction with patients in a clinical setting and/or clinical trial research experience and CITI training is required.
Strong verbal and written communications are required.
Proficient with EXCEL and other Word programs

Duties & Responsibilities
* Under supervision from senior level researcher, prepare animal model experiments including assessing animal behavior, performing surgeries, tissue harvest, pathology and molecular analysis.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides quality, comprehensive mental health services for patients from diverse backgrounds with serious mental illness and/or health-related difficulties. Fellows provide psychological services under the supervision of licensed psychologists in the state of Arizona. This position may assist in training staff and supervision of staff and psychology trainees. Additionally, this position will assist in conducting a program development project aimed at improving patient care, psychology management services, or medical center administration. This is a post-doctoral educational/training step that meets licensure requirements for independently practicing psychologists. This position will be time-limited for a duration of 12 months.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Under the supervision of licensed psychologists, provide quality direct clinical care to patients in outpatient clinic. Direct clinical care may include individual, family, and group therapy modalities as well as conducting cognitive and psychological evaluations. Fellows work with interdisciplinary team members for collaboration and consultation, treatment evaluation, and treatment planning.
2. Assist in supervision and training of staff, psychology interns, and psychology externs. Provide education and training in psychological theory, diagnostic techniques, treatment modalities, and related programs to psychologists, allied disciplines, and personnel in medical, educational, managerial, social, and community programs. In some assignments, fellows may have opportunity to supervise professional staff, psychology interns, and/or psychology externs.
3. Design, implement, and oversee one programmatic intervention aimed at improving patient care, psychology management services, or medical center administration. Fellows will work with one faculty member who will be responsibly for overseeing the appropriate design, implementation, completion, and evaluation of the project.
4. Present once at grand rounds for the Department of Psychiatry.
5. Participate in monthly group supervision meeting.
6. Participate in weekly and/or monthly interdisciplinary staff trainings and clinical review meetings.
7. Strive to advance clinical skills and knowledge as both a direct service provider, educator, and scientist-practitioner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires Ph.D. or Psy.D. from APA or CPA accredited programs.
Must have previous clinical and research experience, training or coursework in relevant field of research. Must possess knowledge of laboratory techniques, research methods and data collection. Requires strong communication, organization, and data analysis and evaluation skills. Must be able to maintain good rapport with other departmental personnel.
This position requires strong initiative, excellent clinical acumen, creative problem-solving skills and intellectual and professional agility in a complex and fluid working environment.
