The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of California, Davis seeks a dynamic leader to serve as the Director of Molecular Pathology at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank, in the Clinical (X) or Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) series.
This position reports to the Director of Clinical Pathology and will be an operational leader, providing strategic vision and collaborative implementation to enhance the department s Molecular Pathology Division and laboratory testing. Clinical and administrative responsibilities will include medical, technical, and scientific directorship of division staff and laboratory personnel in collaboration with the Department Chair and other department section leaders, with the expectations of supervising molecular laboratory operations, participating in test reporting and new test development, while contributing to quality assurance and accreditation activities.
Participation in the institution's research/scholarly mission is expected, as a collaborator or as an intellectual leader of clinically oriented research projects, depending on the academic series chosen for appointment. The candidate will have multiple opportunities for collaboration within the UC Davis Health System, including the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and the California National Primate Center. Additional academic responsibilities include teaching housestaff and medical students, with participation in interdisciplinary conferences, and curriculum development in subspecialty areas.
Qualified applicants must possess an MD, MD-equivalent, PhD or MD/PhD degree, with board certification/ eligibility in Pathology, and certification/ eligibility in Molecular Pathology (or comparable board), and be eligible for licensure in California.
All candidates must be US Citizens, permanent residents or hold an employment visa, and possess experience in a clinical or academic setting that includes clinical care, teaching, and research that would meet requirements for appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level in one of the University of California s clinically intensive academic series Clinical (X) or Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) series . The desired candidate should also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills including in a multidisciplinary environment.
This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, with a salary range for this position of $157,500 - $409,700.

About the Job
The role of Research Technician, performs labor to assist in the upkeep of cannabis research in the areas of cultivation, postharvest and plant breeding. Tasks include but are not limited to plant maintenance, cultivation environmental management, fertility management, data collection and harvest oversight for all research trials. A high degree of proficiency with spreadsheets and attention to detail are extremely important.
What You Will Do
Execute research trials developed by the research and development (R&D) leadership team.
Collect and record research data in trial spreadsheets.
Communicate research needs to facility managers and coordinate tasks with facility personnel on a trial case by case basis.
Maintain stock of research supplies and place purchase orders to ensure adequate supply.
Cataloging, maintaining and organization of plants, tags, and pruned biomass.
Maintain detailed accounts of all activities, research and observations.
Plant Pollination, pollen and seed collection when needed to support breeding efforts.
Travel between cultivation sites where research trials are being conducted
Maintain and follow the cultivation department policies and procedures.
Keep all workstations clean and organized

What We Are Looking For

Under general direction from the OR Deputy Director, the Research Specialist III has supervisory responsibility for the most complex research projects that have major impact on the correctional programs offered by the department. These studies result in program decisions involving significant budget changes and impact staff throughout the department. The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) Headquarters has implemented a new automated system to streamline the hiring process.
