The Quantum AI for Bio (QAI4Bio) Lab led by Dr. Christoph Gorgulla in the Center of Excellence for Data-Driven Discovery in the Structural Biology Department, seeks a skilled and highly motivated student intern in deep learning research/engineering for problems in the life sciences (chemistry, biology, drug discovery). Our research group is focused on developing state-of-the-art computational methods for ligand/drug discovery, using machine learning, high-performance/cloud computing, and quantum chemistry and quantum computing. Our group also includes a wet lab dedicated to experimentally verifying the computationally predicted results in real-world drug discovery projects.
We are seeking a highly motivated student intern with deep expertise in machine learning and deep learning. You will join an interdisciplinary team to push the boundaries of what's possible at the intersection of artificial intelligence and molecular modeling.

Key learning objectives:
Design, implement, and optimize novel deep learning architectures for applications in drug discovery, biology, or quantum chemistry.

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, research-track faculty position (#123620) in forensic anthropology at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2025.
The successful candidate is expected to have research and teaching experience in forensic anthropology; specialization is open. The successful candidate will teach courses in their areas of expertise at the undergraduate level. Qualified applicants must show evidence of an active research agenda, a record of successful grant writing, teaching experience, and professional activity. The position will be housed within the MTSU Forensic Institute for Research and Education (FIRE) and will require mentorship of forensic anthropology students on the FASR (Forensic Anthropology Search and Recovery) Team. The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in forensic anthropology casework and a willingness to collaborate on research with faculty in Criminal Justice and Forensic Science.
Required Education
A terminal degree in anthropology is required by the appointment date.
Required License/Registration/Certification
Board certified or eligible to apply for board certification from the American Board of Forensic Anthropology (ABFA) is required by the appointment date.

+ Assist with necropsy of field specimens and/or assist with the execution of research on human bodies donated for scientific study purposes
+ Assemble precision hand-loaded ammunition for long range precision fire assessments
+ Conduct precision fire weapons accuracy issue problem identification and provide recommendations for the solution
+ Conduct terminal performance testing of ammunition to include, velocity and accuracy testing
+ Conduct all phases of destructive weapons testing according to FBI protocols (handguns, long range precision rifles, and Colt pattern rifles), which includes but is not limited to hot, cold, impact testing, optics shift, functional reliability, and endurance assessments of weapon systems

JOB SUMMARY:
Performs skilled maintenance, repair, adjustment, and minor work in the trades to ensure that Ag Research Lab and Greenhouse facilities are properly maintained and meet College of Agriculture, Family Sciences and Technology standards. Duties may fall into a variety of trades, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates preventative maintenance on Ag Research laboratories, greenhouse systems, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and control systems and related components.
Identifies and maintenance projects requiring the assistance of FVSU Plant Operations or contractors or vendors; participates in estimates and evaluations of project costs; monitors work of vendors or contractors. Assists in the review of new construction or remodel plans to assure compliance with facility maintenance standards.
Maintains induction and air handling units; cleans and inspects all equipment, filter changes, lubricates, maintains and services mechanical and refrigeration and/or cooling systems.
Performs electronic recordkeeping related to preventative maintenance and repair.
Maintains a broad working knowledge of materials, systems and code requirements related to maintenance of university facilities.
Responds to college emergencies and closures including adverse weather to ensure that all facilities are protected and remain operational
Operates an FVSU Ag vehicle and is responsible for its safe operation and reporting any observed maintenance needs.
Coordinates college moves associated with construction / maintenance projects.
Experience in moving, delivering, and assembling equipment, furniture, and other large items.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
5 years of facilities maintenance, construction, or repair experience in a commercial or industrial setting.
2 years of education or training, or an associate degree, in the facilities maintenance trades may substitute for two years of work experience.
Must have a valid driver's license for operation of a motor vehicle and possess an acceptable driving record.
PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions.
May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, noise, and temperature extremes.
Position involves frequent bending, standing, kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching below and above shoulders, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. while performing job duties.
