We are seeking a full-time Research Associate immediately to work in our Arlington, VA office. The base salary for this position is $70,000 to $90,000.
The Research Associate is responsible, under direct supervision, for data collection, statistical studies, and research for individual companies and their securities, within their specified industry. The role of the Research Associate is to develop the techniques and skills necessary for investment analysis and research of securities.
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
* Actively works to gain knowledge within the specified sector. Performs general research duties for senior team members. Monitors specific companies and informs analysts of important developments.
* Participates in meetings and calls with clients on the stocks under coverage. Responsible for filling information requests from clients and sales force regarding individual securities or industry groups.
* Prepares draft research reports and briefs.

Education, Experience, and Skills:

The Stravitz‐Sanyal Institute for Liver Disease and Metabolic Health (SSI) is recruiting a highly motivated Research Associate to join the Saul Karpen research team. The research arc of the Karpen lab focuses upon wet bench validations of etiologic gene discoveries and therapeutic target identification for rare childhood liver diseases. Recent explorations have focused upon discovering etiologic causes of the # 1 reason to transplant a liver during childhood-biliary atresia. The successful candidate will develop and apply research methods to analyzing a first genetic model of biliary atresia, the Pkd1l1 conditional KO mouse, including evaluations of therapeutic efficacy.
Position Summary:
You will engage in collaborative projects across multiple stages, from experimental design through to the dissemination of findings, including support for presentations, grant applications, and publication. Responsibilities will include managing projects transparently, setting specific research milestones, and providing detailed reporting to stakeholders.
Provide focused, technical expertise as a key scientific resource for a broad array of applications. Act as the technical project leader or subject matter expert for multiple projects or programs, interact with clients to provide technical project updates, review and evaluate data, write reports and protocols, and provide input on regulatory compliance. Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies ensuring the laboratory stays current in technologies required. Supervises and assists senior technical staff in laboratory operations such as scheduling, resource management, technical and compliance related issues. Interfaces with clients on scientific issues, study design and project technical requirements. Plans, directs and implements improvements in systems, processes and procedures to increase efficiency, productivity, quality and technical expertise in the laboratory. Assists division director in strategic planning, business development and new technology implementation.

Using a combination of mouse genetics to manipulate specific hippocampal cell-types and advanced, high-resolution imaging techniques, we hope to provide mechanistic insight on the behaviorally-induced synaptic modifications in CA2 that may be required for encoding social behavior.
The Farris lab is recruiting a full-time Research Associate that will be responsible for performing molecular and cellular neurobiology experiments, including rodent intrahippocampal infusion surgeries, maintaining the mouse colony and genotyping, and assisting with lab-related administrative tasks, such as ordering lab supplies and maintaining lab equipment. The successful applicant will also be expected to participate in lab meetings, analyze data, and assist in the preparation of figures for peer-reviewed publication and presentations. CDT is a recognized world leader in the technological treatment of diabetes and the hub of an international research network of leading U.S. institutions. We advance the use of technology, including analytics, to allow improved data and operational management, monitoring, and therapies for patients with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. The Postdoctoral Research Associates will report to Marc Breton, PhD. Dr. Marc Breton was chosen as the recipient of the 2022 Edlich-Henderson Innovator of the Year award. Teaming with Dr. Boris Kovatchev, Breton went on to create the first - and to date only - simulation environment accepted by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration as a replacement for animal studies in pre-clinical assessment of insulin treatment strategies. It paved the way for the pair's invention of a revolutionary artificial pancreas that could monitor and automatically regulate a person's blood glucose levels. Overall, Breton has submitted 55 invention disclosures to LVG since 2007, and he is a named inventor on 27 issued U.S. patents. Today, the work that Breton started when he was a post-doc nearly 20 years ago continues to improve the lives of people with diabetes around the world. His work epitomizes UVA's commitment to biotechnology and its promise of saving and improving lives.
The CDT is directed by Boris Kovatchev, PhD, a world-renowned researcher in the field of Diabetes, algorithm development and data science. Dr. Kovatchev is a regular lecturer at Universities and Conferences throughout the US and Europe. He is actively involved with Center projects and with the direction and education of all post-doctoral candidates. With substantial NIH funding, the Center led and successfully completed the *three largest randomized Artificial Pancreas(AP) clinical trials in the World to date*, including a pivotal trial aiming for regulatory clearance of a new AP System (that included the algorithm program developed at the Center), published on October 16, 2019 in the *New England Journal of Medicine*. About the Department:
The Institute for Biohealth Innovation harnesses the collective talent of more than 300 GMU faculty and staff and thousands of students across 34 academic departments. The IBI connects Mason researchers with potential collaborators, both within the university and externally, to take on some of biohealth's biggest challenges.
The Biomedical Research Lab (BRL), is a core facility overseen by the Institute. The 52,000 square-foot regional biocontainment laboratory (RBL) was established in 2010 as one of 12 NIAID-funded RBLs to support infectious disease research and foster collaborations with other national and global laboratories. It operates as a central core facility to advance research and develop novel diagnostics, therapeutics, and vaccines against viral and bacterial infectious agents by a diverse population of internal and external investigators. The facility is capable of housing multiple species and has a variety of established animal models, with an emphasis on aerosolized exposures. The BRL is fully approved and licensed for work by the CDC and USDA and is accredited by AAALAC.
About the Position:
The research faculty will join a collaborative team that works on bacterial or viral pathogens relevant to human and animal disease. The research foci are within broad fields including but not limited to immunology and immunity in disease, host-pathogen interactions, cellular microbiology, biochemistry, animal imaging and pathology, aerobiology, and countermeasure development (diagnostics, vaccines, and therapeutics). The incumbent will work with a diverse team of internal and external investigators including faculty, postdoctoral fellows, undergraduate and graduate students, and industry professionals. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting research, providing training and mentorship, disseminating findings, and contributing to grant proposals to advance infectious disease research and countermeasure development.
Responsibilities:
* Design and perform experiments to advance knowledge of pathogen biology and host interaction mechanisms; and support development of new countermeasures to combat newly emerging or re-emerging infectious diseases and biothreat agents;
* Provide vision for how BRL research cores can be leveraged to advance infectious disease research and development;
* Perform biostatistical analysis and interpret data;
* Prepare peer-reviewed manuscripts, meeting abstracts, poster presentations, and present results at meetings, conferences, and symposiums;
* Identify potential grant opportunities, generate preliminary data, and write grant/contract proposals;
* Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), IRB and IACUC documents;
* Develop material and train new users on cutting-edge instrumentation;
* Provide mentorship and training for faculty, staff, students, and external partners; and
* Supervise laboratory staff.
Required Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Biology or related field, or equivalent relevant experience;
* At least five (5) years of experience in cell, molecular, or microbiology;
* Documented experience in scientific publication;
* At least two (2) years of experience managing laboratory safety, operations and/or personnel;
* Experience in scientific grant and report writing;
* Excellent collaborative, interpersonal skills;
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
* Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, multi-task, and work with minimal supervision; and

What will you do as a T-Mobile Associate or T-Mobile Expert? Learn and build proficiency in customer service, while concurrently providing a best-in-class customer experience and building loyalty by:
Approaching service and sales needs with patience, honesty, and empathy.
Becoming proficient in the use of digital tools designed to enhance interactions and onboarding to actively demonstrate:
Completing training on T-Mobile in-store experience, new skills and processes, knowledge of systems and reference resources.
Building relationships with and partner with T-Mobile employees across channels.
Engaging with fellow “Archers” and the T-Mobile brand through social media and neighborhood events.
The ideal candidate will bring:
A strong desire to learn and master the skills required of our teammates and to build meaningful connections with our customers.
Competitive drive and demonstrates the confidence to succeed in a fast-paced sales environment.
Willingness to work alongside peers and store leaders, learning and sharing best practices, while serving customers and providing resolutions to issues.
Effective at balancing customer experience and performance goals.
6 months of customer service and/or sales experience, retail environment preferred.
Multi-lingual not required but a plus.
REQUIREMENTS
Be at least 18 years of age.
High school degree or GED
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to lift objects weighing up to 25lbs.
Reliable transportation
Full Time (40 hours) or Part Time (20+ hours) availability
