Job Description: As a Staff AI Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in advancing LinkedIn's efforts in cutting-edge AI research and development, focusing on large-scale foundation models and AI innovations. You will specialize in developing, training, and optimizing foundation models, including Large Language Models (LLMs), utilizing state-of-the-art deep learning architectures such as multi-billion parameter transformers and scaling them to serve LinkedIn's global user base. Your work will involve the design and deployment of high-performance AI systems, leveraging GPUs and other hardware accelerators for large-scale training and inference. You will collaborate with a world-class team of researchers and engineers to develop and advance the next generation of AI models to push the boundaries of AI at scale, working on complex problems such as distributed training, model parallelism, and system co-design. A successful candidate will be comfortable operating at the intersection of AI research and engineering, with a deep understanding of the latest advancements including but not limited to large model training, post-training techniques for planning and reasoning, fine-tuning strategies, reinforcement learning techniques. Responsibilities: • Lead and contribute to the research, design, and development of large-scale foundation AI models, focusing on LLMs, transformer architectures, and cutting-edge AI systems. • Publish the findings and innovations as the latest academic and industry research in top notch core AI venues such as ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, ACL,, patents, and conferences as appropriate. • Stay abreast of the latest academic and industry research, applying relevant findings to improve LinkedIn's AI capabilities. • Innovate in large-scale model training, leveraging GPUs and specialized hardware for optimal performance. • Develop and maintain scalable AI pipelines, optimizing training and inference workflows to handle vast amounts of data. • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth and knowledge sharing. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of machine learning engineers, infrastructure engineers, and AI researchers to deliver impactful AI innovations across LinkedIn's products. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience • 4+ years of experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, etc. • 4+ years of experience in machine learning or AI engineering. • 4+ years of experience in the design and development of algorithmic solutions. About The Job Dudek is currently seeking a full-time entry-level Biologist to join our biological resources team. The successful candidate will assist our team in conducting a variety of field surveys, primarily focused on biological resource field assessments and impact evaluations. This individual may also assist with resource agency permitting. Project work can occur throughout the state of California. Overnight and out-of-region travel may be necessary. This position will focus primarily on field-based work in the Central Valley and Inland Empire. Learn more about the projects you will have the opportunity to shape. Duties and Responsibilities (may include some or all of the below) Collect detailed field data, work in remote field locations, hike steep slopes over uneven terrain, and work full days in all types of weather Identify California flora to species and subspecies or variety. Conduct/lead field surveys for rare, threatened, and endangered plants and wildlife. Conduct/lead vegetation surveys, invasive plant surveys, and habitat assessments. Conduct long-term rare plant and vegetation monitoring. Support wildlife-focused survey efforts. Conduct jurisdictional delineations. Organize and schedule field surveys. Prepare reports summarizing methodology, field survey results and recommendations. Prepare written documentation to support environmental permit applications and CEQA/NEPA biological evaluations. Prepare scopes of work and cost estimates for biological resource survey work. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in biology, ecology, botany, environmental science or related natural resources field. Must have a minimum of two years professional experience working in the environmental consulting, land use planning and/or resource/regulatory agency sector. Substantial academic research, or biology-focused extracurricular involvement may be considered in lieu of two full years of professional experience. Ability to conduct fieldwork in challenging terrain and challenging weather conditions. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong written and oral communication skills. Strong written and oral communication skills. Familiarity with the ecology of California and environmental regulation. Familiarity with MS Office Suite and MS Excel. Willingness to travel for work, including over-night stays in hotels. Must possess a valid driver's license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employment. * As a federal contractor, successful candidates are required to pass the following pre-employment requirements prior to beginning employment: pre - employment drug test and background check. Preferred Qualifications Experience with field identification of common and special-status species endemic to California and the western U.S. Project and task management skills: general logistics, budgeting, scheduling, team coordination, and client / contractor / stakeholder communication. Familiarity with GIS and field collection applications, such as ESRI Field Maps, Survey123, etc. Physical Requirements Working Conditions: This job operates in an outdoor or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc. This job requires project site visits which are based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, moving vehicles and equipment. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met in order to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This job may require working on a computer, sitting or standing for long periods of time in an office or remote office setting. This job requires attending meetings, both in person and virtually as well as speaking on the phone with government agency representatives, members of the public, and others.
