About the role
The Ishizuka Lab (Yale School of Medicine) is recruiting a post-graduate dry lab ResearchAssociate to drive analysis and biological insights from multi-modal and single cell genomics data gathered from patient tumor immune samples and murine models. A portion of the role will also include support of the development and application of next-gen AI-enabled protein design approaches.
We are seeking, reliable, self-motivated and ambitious candidates who will be trusted to build reproducible analyses, produce interpretable results and communicate clearly with experimental and computational team members. Co-authorship is supported.
Commitment: We strongly prefer candidates who can commit to two consecutive one-year renewable terms (2 years total)
What you'll do:
Manage day-to-day sc RNA-seq analysis: QC, integration, clustering/annotation, differential analyses, etc

Partner with wet-lab teammates to refine experimental design and translate findings into next steps
Help prototype/implement workflows that combine novel AI methods with evolutionary/sequence concepts

Great Gull Island (GGI), NY, is the breeding site for 35% of the federally endangered Roseate Terns (~2,300 pairs) breeding the northwest Atlantic population, and the second largest colony (~11,000 pairs) of Common Tern on the east coast of North America. The Rubega Lab in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology department has a grant to enhance nesting habitat for terns on GGI and create a biosecurity plan to protect the colony from predatory mammals, disease, and invasive plant species. The Program Manager (Research Assistant 3) will supervise all aspects of this project.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Organizing and managing the logistics of a nesting habitat restoration project for Common and Roseate Terns breeding on Great Gull Island.
Implementing a Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP) for all projects related to this habitat restoration project.
Ordering and supervising the transportation of supplies to the island.
Coordinating with the herbicide contractor and crew for twice-yearly application of herbicides to control invasive plant species on the island.
Coordinating and supervising volunteers conducting habitat enhancement on the island, including planting native plant plugs, installing nest boxes, and spreading pea gravel to enhance habitat over existing concrete structures.
Coordinating the removal of marine debris from the island.
Coordinating boat trips to Great Gull Island for contractors and crew members.
Supervising volunteer work crews on the island.
Supervising a staff of up to 3 habitat restoration technicians.
Writing annual reports summarizing habitat restoration efforts.

Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities:
•Assist Lead Biomarker Scientist to develop, optimize, validate, and perform FACS-based and other biomarker assays to support studies in New Haven CRU and external protocols if needed.
•Perform general flow cytometry operation, including sample preparation and analysis. Experience in FACSCanto Flow Cytometer and FACSDiva software.
•Perform quality control checks on Flow Cytometers and other Laboratory instruments, reagents, and techniques.
•Operate, maintain, calibrate and trouble shoot Flow cytometers and other Laboratory instruments according to SOPs.
•Maintain quality control and calibration logs of all Flow Cytometers.
•Analyze, summarize and document experimental results.
•Perform data entry using laboratory information management system (LIMS)
•Write experimental SOPs.
•Update Biomarker Lead on the status, results and problems in method development and performance of the assays.
•Complete all NHCRU/Pharmaceutical required training.
•Have a working knowledge of Microsoft office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
•Possess multi-tasking and organizational skills.
•Experience in ELISpot Assays and FlowJo software a plus.
Qualifications:
Minimum of either
MS in Biology/BioChemistry/Medical Technology plus 1 year of relevant experience
BS in Biology/BioChemistry/Medical Technology or 3 years of relevant experience.
