WHAT YOU'LL DO
This position is responsible for various financial analysis activities for the Clinical Study Payments Team including but not subject to, new study budget review, study and site budget set up, invoice processing, customer service inquiries. It is also responsible for various reporting and month end activities.
Major and On-going Job Duties:
• Acts as a liaison and consultant for specific study team's monthly analysis, budgeting,
quarterly forecasting, and annual strategic planning processes
• Responsible for generating and processing clinical study reimbursements which include
invoices and quarterly payments
• Assist in the facilitation of new study budget set up, quarterly payments, and special
reports
• Support internal and external audits by preparing and providing relevant reports and
analysis
• Special project analysis and support involving clinical study payment data
• Work as a liaison with the Clinical Study Data Systems team for application
enhancements
• Performs analysis of clinical study payment data per defined requirements
• Resolves and/or facilitates resolution of problems including identifying causes of
problems to prevent re-occurrence of problems
• Promotes confidentiality of financial and other data at all times
• Reviews, updates, and adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures
• Researches payments issues for accuracy and presents findings to departments as
necessary
• Review contract and grant agreements for financial risk and billing issues
• Prepares monthly projection analysis report for Clinical Trials which provides anticipated
associated financial revenue for upcoming visits
• Reviews study budget in Clinical Study Payments Application to ensure proper visit
accruals

• Remains current on developments in field(s) of expertise
• Performs related functions and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned
Experience & Training:
Equivalent education level and experience required:
Must have 1-3 years' experience in finance/accounting.
1-2 years' experience in invoicing
Ability to manage multiple applications at once (Concur, Oracle, SAP)
Previous experience within a clinical trial setting or clinical research setting is highly preferred for this position
• Experience with automated accounting systems. Strong knowledge of relational databases
preferred.
• Demonstrated familiarity with MS Office, especially Word, and Excel.
• Demonstrated oral and written interpersonal, communication, analytical, presentation, and
organizational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines/work independently. Must be adept at handling multiple assignments
in a timely manner and meeting assigned deadlines.
• Strong analytic skills and demonstrated capacity for accuracy.
• Ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization in a professional manner.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Ability to analyze processes and procedures and recommend improvements.
Preferred:
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Computer Information Systems.
• Prefer experience in a manufacturing environment and/or clinical research environment.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Reporting Services, Analysis Services, a plus.

Healthy Living implements, evaluates, and disseminates scientific solutions, applicable to all Texans, for improved public health. The Healthy Living team works on a broad portfolio of extramurally funded, community-engaged research and active collaborations with community partners, cooperative extension, and many academic and nonprofit organizations throughout Texas and beyond. We aim to understand the means of building communities around healthy living and about facilitating the delivery of current, accurate, evidence-based programs, guidelines, and information that supports healthier living for Texans. Areas of particular interest to Healthy Living include health promotion, food access, food systems, food and nutrition insecurity, dietary patterns and behaviors, diet/food interventions, program development and evaluation, physical activity behaviors and intervention development, policy system and environmental change, citizen science and community-engaged research, and mHealth technologies and interventions.
The IHA's Healthy Living program is housed at the Texas A&M AgriLife Center at Dallas, which focuses on scientific research, public outreach, and education programs. The Center is a regional hub for Texas A&M AgriLife activity. It is one of 13 AgriLife Centers across the state - each focusing on issues specific to their region. Broad focus areas at the Dallas Center include healthy living, urban agriculture and forestry, and water and land resource management.
Responsibilities:
* Work closely with faculty and the research team to support the implementation of ongoing studies and the development of new ancillary research, including study design, operations, and reporting. Common research study areas include: maternal-child health and nutrition; obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and/or cardiovascular disease risk reduction interventions for children and adults working with schools, healthcare clinics, and community partners; food system and food insecurity intervention projects; development and evaluation of technology-based interventions (mobile apps).
* Design and manage research project operational procedures, including preparing and coordinating IRB human subjects research protocols.
* Assist with study participant recruitment, data collection, field work, and management of project-related logistics.
* Contribute to the development and refinement of curricula and program materials for chronic disease prevention and health promotion, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
* Assist with preparing grant applications and proposals to funding agencies; develop and edit reports, manuscripts, scientific presentations, manuals, and other dissemination products for audiences.
* Conduct literature reviews to inform the design, implementation, and evaluation of community-engaged health interventions and/or scientific publications.
* Assist with data management and analysis (qualitative and quantitative), including data cleaning, documentation, acquisition, and merging.
* Assist in the development and management of online research tools (e.g., Qualtrics, REDCap, etc.) to support data collection, analysis, and evaluation.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in related field (e.g., public health, nutrition, exercise science, health communication, health administration, etc.).
* Six years of related experience.
* Professional demeanor and demonstrated ability to manage and safeguard confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism, ensuring sensitive data is handled securely and in compliance with privacy policies.
* Ability to take initiative, work independently, multitask, work cooperatively with others, and manage priorities and tasks as assigned.

* Fluent in Spanish and English, verbal and written.
* Research background, including experience with community-engaged research and evaluation projects, specifically research management, data collection and/or experience with implementation of clinical research studies.
* Experience coordinating research projects in the following areas: maternal and early childhood nutrition; underserved populations; minority and urban health; food systems; food and nutrition security; community-based health behavior interventions.
* Experience conducting human subjects research and managing Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications.
* Experience with scientific writing, including proposal preparation and writing, developing written reports, and editing manuscripts and documents.

The Research Specialist II, under general supervision research work involving performance of assignments which may involve planning and directing certain phases of research project.
Texas A&M AgriLife's Institute for Advancing Health Through Agriculture (IHA) Healthy Living program, based at the AgriLife Center at Dallas, seeks an experienced Research Specialist II to work in close collaboration and coordination with the Healthy Living team, led by IHA Associate Director, Dr. Rebecca Seguin-Fowler, whose work focuses on community-engaged research to promote health and reduce chronic disease.
