The ResearchAssociate will be dedicated to the successful implementation and execution of a 5-year project aimed at investigating the climate impact of conservation agriculture practices, primarily cover cropping. The incumbent will collect greenhouse gas emission data from on-farm locations across the Mississippi Delta and assist with collecting and analyzing soil samples and crop data. This full-time ResearchAssociate position is based at the National Center for Alluvial Aquifer Research at the Delta Research and Extension Center, Stoneville, MS.
The individual must be able to assume responsibility, carry out directed research, work independently with minimal supervision, and work cooperatively with other team members and collaborators. Because the research activities of this project will be conducted primarily on producer fields, a friendly, open-minded, and respectful attitude towards crop producers and farm personnel is essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Collect greenhouse gas emission data from on-farm sites and maintain/secure data.
2. Establish and maintain research sites on producers' fields.
3. Maintain and calibrate project equipment, such as analyzers and sensors.
4. Organize and assist in sample collection routines, such as collecting and organizing soil and crop samples.
5. Perform routine laboratory analyses, such as soil properties, crop yield, crop biomass, grain quality, etc.
6. Work closely with producers and collaborators to ensure coordinated sample and data collection while maintaining daily farm operations.
7. Maintain accurate and timely records of field operations, sample collection, and sample analyses.
8. Organize and order field and laboratory supplies needed for the project and maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment.
9. May supervise, guide, and train staff/student workers, interns, and volunteers as needed.
10. Other duties necessary for conducting the research project as determined by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree Agronomy, Plant and/or Soil Science, or related field.
Individual must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be ready to travel within the Mississippi Delta for research activities on a daily basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with all aspects of beef cattle research at the MSU White Sand Unit. The examples provided are intended to demonstrate the types of duties typically associated with positions in this classification:

The Northern Gulf Institute (NGI) is a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Cooperative Institute comprised of six academic institutions that are geographically distributed across the U.S. Gulf Coast states. The six NGI member institutions are Mississippi State University (lead), the University of Southern Mississippi, Florida State University, Louisiana State University, the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and the Dauphin Island Sea Laboratory. Together with NOAA and in support of their strategic plan, NGI conducts research on interconnections among Gulf of Mexico environments, habitats, resources, and people and engages in outreach to help others learn about and make decisions based on these interconnections.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Effective Technology Solutions
a. Analyze, identify, recommend, and implement solutions to the gaps in data management
capabilities resulting from the development of new and existing environmental data sensors
and platforms.
b. Analyze, identify, recommend, and implement solutions to the increased complexities of
multi-dimensional and non-traditional data sets that are outside the stewardship solutions
currently available to the NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI)
Oceanographic and Geophysical Sciences and Services Division (OGSSD)
c. Optimize and automate data visualization tools and products for multidisciplinary
oceanographic, coastal, and marine data.
d. Identify, develop and shepherd the migration of tools, products, and services from NGI
research to NOAA NCEI operations once fully vetted.
2. Support NCEI partner efforts
a. Research innovative approaches for design of a comprehensive framework for integrated
data management to leverage existing information and protocols for use in science-based
decision making, analyses, prioritizing needs, and identifying gaps.
b. Provide scientific expertise to assist restoration project performers to develop and optimize
effective data management processes and procedures, ensuring efficient end-to-end data
stewardship.
c. Provide at-sea data and sampling support aboard NOAA research cruises on NOAA and
non-NOAA vessels using a variety of at-sea data collection platforms
d. Work directly with users to turn feedback and ideas into solutions.
Minimum Qualifications:
M.S., or Ph.D. in Marine Science, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
Ability to go to sea to contribute to scientific expeditions up to 2 months out of the year.
Ability to receive a Department of Commerce moderate risk clearance.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in animal science or closely related field.
Licensure: Must have a valid driver's license.

Master of Science in animal science or related field. A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License or willingness and ability to obtain this license is desirable.

• Collaborate with external stakeholders such as federal agencies, NGOs, and private sector partners to co-produce research with practical applications in agriculture, natural resource management, geosystems and geospatial intelligence, and climate adaptation.
• Identify, integrate, and evaluate emerging technologies, such as GeoAI, sensor networks, and cloud-based geospatial data infrastructures, to advance research scalability and impact.
• Perform interdisciplinary research with a focus on machine learning applications in agriculture and/or natural resources.

Biomedical Sciences in Laminitis Research
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This is a twelve-month non- tenure-track appointment in the Department of Comparative Biomedical Sciences (DCBS). Time allocations for this position are 90% research and 10% academic service, teaching, or clinical service, depending upon the individual's interests and expertise. Percentages can be adjusted according to the faculty member's professional interests.
The DCBS is home to 19 faculty, 25 staff and 28 graduate students engaged in research, teaching and service, with most faculty primarily focused on research. Current research strengths within the department include environmental toxicology, represented by the Center for Environmental Health Sciences, aquaculture, infectious diseases, and immunology. In addition to research, faculty in the DCBS are involved in the management and delivery of the first year of the veterinary curriculum, and members of the department play key roles in a program designed to provide veterinary students with a high-quality research experience in the summer. Faculty in the department are also actively involved in providing classes and training activities for graduate students. The three new faculty members for the Nancy Link Laminitis Research Center will have opportunities to collaborate with colleagues in the DCBS, as well as clinicians in the Department of Pathobiology and Population Medicine. Equine medicine and equine surgery clinicians in this department provide clinical care to horses with laminitis, and opportunities exist for the new faculty to provide clinical service in the Large Animal Hospital of the Animal Health Center.

11. Lead, guide, and train staff/student employees, interns, and/or volunteers performing related work; may participate in the recruitment of volunteers, as appropriate to the area of operation.

Bachelor's degree in related discipline.

The National Research and Training Center on Blindness and Low Vision (NRTC) at Mississippi State University invites applications for a ResearchAssociate II or III. The mission of the NRTC is to enhance employment and independent living outcomes for individuals with blindness or low vision through research, training, education, and dissemination. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist with research and training activities under the direction of experienced staff members. The ResearchAssociate II-III will assist senior researchers and other staff in completing research and development activities associated with a federally funded grant. This person will receive mentoring to enhance their research skills, with the goal of assuming leadership responsibilities for research projects in the future.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist with the implementation of research studies under the guidance of a senior
researcher
• Survey development in Qualtrics
• Assist with data collection, which may include focus groups

external funding
• Conduct literature reviews
• Assist with virtual training activities
Minimum Qualifications:
