Hanover's Grants Researcher Contractors (GRCs) work alongside Content Directors and Grants Consultants to provide prospecting and related support services to Hanover's (primarily) higher education clients. As a part-time contractor, the GRC will be responsible for identifying public and private funding opportunities based on client need and assessing appropriate fit of highly technical funding programs. GRCs will also occasionally contribute to proposal narratives in the form of best practices research, literature reviews, and needs assessments. This position will report directly to a senior Research Consultant.
Responsibilities
Identify and select sources of funding that align with client projects;
Manage tight deadlines to create prospecting reports and other deliverables on time;
Demonstrate an understanding of clients' needs and the goals of their projects, both programmatic and research-related;
Independently create client-ready deliverables with minimal oversight;
Collaborate with Content Directors and Grants Consultants to refine project scopes; and
Explore creative solutions for preparing content and delivering it to clients efficiently.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in applying analytics to industry verticals such as Energy, Manufacturing, or similar.
Superior communication and storytelling skills with data. The Department of Integrative Biology at Michigan State University invites applications from behavioral ecologist for one or more part-time, 12-month, fixed-term researchassociate positions with an 100% research assignment. The initial appointment is for one year, with the expectation of extension contingent upon satisfactory performance and continued funding.
The selected candidate will play a key role in (a) conducting research using the Mara Hyena Project (MHP)'s long-term behavioral, demographic, ecological and biological sample data alongside a dedicated team of faculty and field-based research assistants, and (b) establishing an independent or collaborative research program with other faculty members in areas related to behavioral ecology, mammalogy, physiology, and modern statistics. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience collecting field data from free-living mammalian carnivores. The MHP collects and manages a long-term data base that is maintained in Microsoft Access and via a remotely accessible R package. Familiarity with these kinds of long-term data and experience querying and accessing complex databases is desired. The hired scientist will work with MHP scientists to produce manuscripts, present researchresults at conferences, and contribute to grant applications to fund ongoing research at the field site.
Furthermore, there will be potential for the candidate to conduct fieldwork at the Mara Hyena Project research site in the Maasai Mara Kenya. Additional anticipated duties of this position pertaining specifically to field work include spending several weeks at the MHP field site overseeing research projects, training research assistants, meeting with local authorities to help maintain good working relationships and ensuring continuity of the long-term data collection. They will also assist in logistics related to conducting research in Kenya, including generating reports for permitting agencies and local stakeholders and preparing permitting applications.
In addition, there will be a preference for candidates who will bring in molecular and/or physiological expertise to bolster the research tools in the Department of Integrative Biology. The successful candidate will have access to Dr. Strauss' and Dr. Montgomery's shared lab space, and the department is home to a variety of physiology and molecular biology labs with state-of-the-art equipment.

Position Summary
The Office of Research Development seeks a Graduate Hourly - Research Development in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research (OVCR). This is a fully remote, year-round, part-time position. This role will assist in identifying and cataloging research-related funding opportunity announcements, news stories, and event announcements relevant to the UIC research enterprise.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Conduct funding opportunity searches and curate funding opportunity lists in Pivot.
* Collect funding opportunity announcements, news stories and event announcements from diverse sources including UIC campus/unit and funder websites and email newsletters (listservs).
* On a weekly basis, compile and organize newly released limited submission funding opportunities in a shared document.
* On a weekly basis, compile and organize non-limited funding opportunity announcements, news stories and event announcements in a shared document.
* Assist with other projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
* Must currently be enrolled in a graduate program at UIC.
* Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate excellent written and interpersonal communications skills; are able to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks to meet strict weekly deadlines and are able to work independently.
Preferred Qualifications
* Preference will be given to candidates with experience in reading and analyzing funding opportunity solicitations
from a variety of sponsors, including federal agencies and foundations
