Job Activities: The Research Study Assistant's primary activities involve completing study visits on the RADAR project. The Research Study Assistant will be responsible for conducting HIV testing and counseling as part of the study procedures. The Research Assistant (RA) is expected to work in-person at study sites without a regular work from home schedule. The position will also require some evening hours (e.g., 11 AM - 7 PM) and weekend shifts to maximize retention efforts for study participants who are unavailable during the regular workday. As a PhD Candidate/Research Assistant he is responsible for carrying out research on igneous geochemistry, including sample preparation, data interpretation, and scientific communication. The RA to be hired has been working on this funded project for the past two years and is now instrumental to the project's completion. Past work has included preparing samples and acquiring preliminary data that were central to securing project funding. Summer 2026 Internship Opportunity The Greenhouse & Research Internship at Mt. Cuba Center offers an exceptional opportunity to gain experience in native plant propagation and research. The intern will participate in all aspects of greenhouse operation and plant propagation to assist in the production of plants in our indoor and outdoor growing facilities. Throughout the summer season, the intern will be exposed to the over 300 accessions of herbaceous and woody native plants produced per year for use in our gardens and research programs. The intern will also support Mt. Cuba Center's Trial Garden, where they will help to assess the horticultural and ecological value of the various species and cultivars that are under evaluation. The intern will participate in routine observation and rating of species, record keeping of pollinator activity, and learn the fundamentals of trial garden maintenance. Essential Functions of the Role This dynamic position provides experience in horticultural research across stages of plant growth from seed to mature plants. The intern will work closely with both the Greenhouse and Trial Garden teams while developing essential skills and knowledge.
