Hexcel is currently seeking a Research Engineer II for our Casa Grande, AZ, USA location. The Research Engineer II is responsible for conducting independent research and development tasks of considerable importance and complexity relating to the more complicated phases of an over-all scientific or engineering project. Work performed requires complicated scientific analysis, planning, and execution.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
Conducts engineering tests and/or scientific experiments (including Designs of Experiments) exercising independent judgment within the limits of delegation utilizing established engineering and research techniques. Compiles and evaluates essential design and test data, prepares technical specification, analyzes technical data to determine appropriate limits and variables for recommended product, process or material specifications. Analyzes, develops, and recommends design approaches required to meet proposed production requirements for new or improved products and processes. Reviews and approves related inputs such as drawings and specifications prepared by technical support personnel. Coordinates with engineering support or production sections to arrange for the performance of experimental runs or for the construction of experimental models and special test equipment. Works with internal customers (Sales, Operations, other R&T areas) as well with external customers, to develop new products and processes.Works in a team environment to reach consensus decisions within the guidelines and boundaries established by the company, and maintains constructive relationships with co-workers.Utilizes JHA's, SOP's, and other safety tools, including appropriate personal protective equipment, to perform job assignments in a safe and efficient manner.Supports and engages in the Environmental Management System (EMS), ISO 14001 to ensure environmental compliance, continual improvement and cost containment. Operates at all times in compliance with the Hexcel's Quality System and Quality Policy. Complies with Hexcel policies, procedures, and Code of Business Conduct.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in an engineering or related technical field from a four-year college or university required. Master's Degree (M.S) in engineering preferred.Minimum of 5 years' directly related professional experiences including: developing new products and/or processes within the composites industry; Integrating new products and processes from research level into production; managing projects within cross-functional team environment.Proficient in the use of statistical software and Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or equivalent software.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
