What You Need
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience, ideally in R&D, materials analysis, or process engineering
Recent graduates with relevant project or lab experience may be considered
Strong understanding of non-ferrous metallurgy and metal extraction principles, especially copper metallurgy.
Knowledge of pyrometallurgical, hydrometallurgical, and/or electrometallurgical processes
Experience with:
Material characterization and analysis

What Your Role Will Look Like
As the Metallurgical Research & Development Scientist, you will be integral to the development and enhancement of metallurgical processes, particularly in non-ferrous extractive metallurgy with a focus on copper. Collaborating with various departments, you will lead process improvement initiatives through simulation and modeling, contribute to R&D projects, and support the broader organization in achieving its production and efficiency goals.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Production, Supply Chain, and Maintenance, to develop and optimize metallurgical processes.
Design and improve processes through simulation, focusing on enhancing production efficiency and effectiveness.
Conduct research and development projects, such as developing new copper alloys and analyzing the impact of using different types of electronic waste.
Utilize process simulation software to model and simulate metallurgical processes, implementing improvements to existing operations.
Prepare detailed process flow diagrams and perform calculations related to mass balance, heat balance, and phase diagrams.
Support other departments by providing expertise on chemical and material compositions and addressing process-related questions.
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards, contributing to the development of operating instructions and risk assessments.

Job Summary

Perform a variety of experimental studies, including cell biology and molecular biology experiments. Experiments may include, but not be limited to, animal behavioral testing, genotyping, ELISA, immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence, and collection of tissues. Analyze results of experiments and procedures using confocal and brightfield image analyses and, if necessary, develop special computer programs to facilitate analysis. Maintain and update spreadsheets documenting results.
Maintains mouse colonies and inventories. Coordinates with all members of the lab and the PI to keep track of which mouse strains are currently in use or will be required for research projects. Coordinate and perform treatment and testing of mice.
Supervise and coordinate activities of students, graduate assistants, and other research personnel engaged in research activities and/or related laboratory work. Advise the PI, postdocs, students, and other research personnel on research techniques, procedures, and other technological aspects of research activities.
Manages continuous operation of the research laboratory, orders supplies and animals as necessary, keeps track of costs, expenses, and delivered goods/supplies, updates spreadsheets documenting lab supply and chemical inventories

Job Summary
This position provides administrative and technical oversight in a cardiorenal research laboratory in the Department of Physiology. The laboratory applies cutting edge molecular technologies to understand complex patho/physiological processes. Projects include work in cell and animal models, as well as translational studies involving human subjects.
Responsibilities

Lab Management
Coordinate research activities in the lab and instruct research staff and students and advise regarding research techniques.
Animal Management
Coordinate administrative and technical arrangements of animal models and maintain records related to use. Perform animal colony maintenance and surgical procedures such as injections, gavage and euthanasia. Assist PI with animal protocols preparation and submission.
Experiments
Perform complex data analysis related to producing research results and preparing findings for future development and develop new studies in coordination with the PI. The lab also focuses on studying the contribution of changes in the actin cytoskeleton in vascular cells to the hemodynamics in cerebral and renal circulation, as well as changes in the actin cytoskeleton in podocytes in glomerular function.

The Immunology Center of Georgia (IMMCG) represents a new initiative by the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University to leverage the ability of the immune system to combat disease. The IMMCG will accomplish this by assembling teams of biomedical researchers with strong records of scientific innovation and technological development. The Immunology Center of Georgia (IMMCG) represents a new initiative by the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University to leverage the ability of the immune system to combat disease. The IMMCG will accomplish this by assembling teams of biomedical researchers with strong records of scientific innovation and technological development. The IMMCG will be co-directed by world-class immunologists Drs. Catherine `Lynn Hedrick and Klaus Ley, both of whom have made major discoveries linking immune cells to specific mechanisms of disease. The goal of the IMMCG is to produce novel and effective treatments for conditions that heavily impact the communities of Georgia and the United States. The new center is aggressively recruiting faculty and staff to lead projects focused on cardiovascular disease, obesity and metabolic disorders, autoimmune and infectious disease, neurodegenerative disease and cancer.
Job Summary
Performs laboratory work related to studies in T cell immunology and cancer immunotherapy (i.e. CAR-T and TCR-T or TIL therapy). Maintains mouse colony (including genotyping) and research database, communicates well with other laboratory members, and works well as part of a team. Assists with ordering supplies and maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to:
Design and perform a variety of molecular biological, biochemical, and immunological assays (gene constructs, PCR analysis, western blots, flow cytometry, ELISA etc.) This will include but is not limited to preparing culture media, incubate and culture human and mouse cell lines, perform molecular biology techniques, perform flow cytometry techniques and analysis, and work with experimental animals.
Supervise junior members in the lab
Assist PI for writing publications and grant applications
Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science, or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research.

Responsibilities

General Lab Manage
* Make inventory of lab supply.
* Order research supply.
* Stock lab supply in cell culture room and lab space.
* Cleaning and autoclave.
Analyze large data sets and provide bioinformatic support.
General lab research work

Job Summary
Performs advanced administrative and technical work in support of research initiatives in an assigned laboratory or clinical research unit. Participates in research data collection and documentation within FDA guidelines and research institute protocols; develops and evaluates new research techniques and procedures. Performs a variety of complex chemical, biological, cytological, microscopic, histological, surgical, clinical and/or dissection procedures.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Advise principal investigators, post-doctoral fellows, graduate students and other research personnel on research techniques, procedures and other technological aspects of research activities.
Supervise and coordinate activities of students, graduate assistants and other employees engaged in research activities and/or related laboratory work.
Teach and participate in complex bacteriological, chemical and/or radiochemical qualitative and quantitative analysis, macro- and microserological, histological and cell culture procedures.
Calibrate, troubleshoot, repair and operate electron microscopes, computer-linked analytical equipment, dedicated computers, and other complex scientific equipment; instructs others in operation of equipment.
Coordinate and participate in research of scientific literature; summarize and evaluate findings; develops derivative applications of techniques developed by own research activities or reported by other research projects.

Job Summary
This advanced position involves both senior technical and supervisory level for training graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. The person in this role will help the PI write papers and grant proposals, combine innovative mouse genetic molecular and cell biology, plan and design experiments and design complex proteomic experiments, analysis of complex set of data from microarray using Ingenuity System Pathway Analysis and analysis of complex data from ChIP-Seq experiments.
Responsibilities

* Participate in project planning and development of research protocols.
* Conduct experiments and analyze results of experiments including experiments in Biochemistry.
* Determine need for new supplies and equipment; Make responsible purchasing decisions, place orders, maintain computer database and hard copies for inventory and equipment service records. Responsible for keeping laboratory and equipment functional; Coordinate daily operation and cleanliness of the laboratory. Prepare/update of animal use, biosafety and chemical protocols. Job Summary
This position will assist in phenotypic analyses of the mouse mutants, mouse surgery, and isolation of endothelial and vascular cells from mice. This position will also work with members of a team of scientists, each of whom carries out a series of mouse experiments of human relevance. In addition, this position will perform plasmid and adenovirus amplification, western blotting, qPCR, tissue cutting and histological and immunofluorescence staining to assist lab member's work. A database, already in place, will need daily updating.
Candidate must be able to handle and work with mice including maintaining mouse colony with genotyping and have organizational skills with ability to multitask.

The Research Associate will perform cell culture, real-time PCR, flow cytometry, western blotting, histological studies, gene silencing and overexpression in the laboratory. The position requires the ability to maintain mouse colonies by crossing tissue specific mice with various floxed mice to generate tissue-specific knockout animals. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our hematological malignancies registry and in coordinating a project aiming at addressing health disparities across Georgia. Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Registry Management: Data Collection and Entry: Accurately collect, enter, and manage patient data related to hematological and other malignancies in the registry database. Quality Control: Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data by performing regular quality control checks and audits. Database Management: Maintain and update the registry database, ensuring data integrity and security. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, including patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
Project Management: Study Coordination: Coordinate research studies aiming at addressing the access of women living in rural areas of Georgia and South Carolina to breast and cervical cancer screenings. Protocol Development: Assist in the development and implementation of research protocols and standard operating procedures. Generating protocols for clinical research and submitting them to the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Timeline Management: Monitor project timelines and ensure milestones are met according to the study plan.

Job Summary
This position provides administrative and technical oversight for a research laboratory in the Department of Physiology. Responsibilities include ensuring research protocols are followed and met; safety guidelines are followed in accordance with institution and government regulations; management of laboratory resources; providing teaching and technical oversight to students, postdoctoral fellows, and technicians; processing of data, present findings and assist Principal Investigator (PI) with current and future research applications and programs of study. Performs blood sampling; blood pressure studies; and data acquisition, analyses and tabulation.

LAB MANAGEMENT: Coordinates research activities in the lab, instructs research staff and students, and advises regarding research techniques. Coordinates telemetry studies for other faculty and labs.
