Essential Functions
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
* Perform nutrient analysis on water samples using a spectrophotometer
* Perform off-flavor analysis on water samples using SPME GC-MS
* Perform qPCR analysis on water samples
* Perform algal pigment analysis, including chlorophyll and phycocyanin using a fluorometer
* Engage in field work to collect water samples
* Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment

Responsibilities:
As Vivarium and Research Lab Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for managing and performing all activities within the animal vivarium on the Columbus campus to include all aspects of animal husbandry and care. This position will be responsible for all reporting requirements associated with IACUC, OLAW, and USDA oversight. The candidate will have access to a veterinarian and other facility managers as needed. As Research Lab Manager the incumbent will work with the Chair or Vice-Chair of the department to perform duties related to managing and maintaining the research laboratory facilities on the Columbus campus of MUSM.
The Laboratory Manager will be responsible for maintaining as well as ensuring proper and safe use of departmental equipment. In addition, the laboratory

Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences or a related field from an accredited institution and five years of prior laboratory experience which must include work with animals. Candidates with a master's degree and two years of the same experience will also be considered.

Posting Details Information Job Title Postdoctoral Fellow - Gulf Coast Resilience Posting Number P2311F Information The Collaborative Conservation & Adaptation Planning and the Wetland and Riparian Ecology labs at Auburn University are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral ResearchFellow to join the "Building the resilience of Gulf Coast blue economies in a changing world: A multiple case study" research initiative, which has been recommended for funding by Mississippi Alabama Sea Grant. This mixed-methods project will constructively evaluate the long-term impacts of Sea Grant's Gulf Resilience Community of Practice (CoP) and explore how resilience is understood, experienced, and implemented across a spectrum of coastal economies in Mississippi and Alabama.
The postdoc will work closely with Dr. Matthew Jurjonas (PI and Assistant Professor, Conservation Social Science) and Dr. Chris Anderson (Co-PI and Professor, Coastal Wetland Ecology) to co-lead project implementation. The position emphasizes community-based fieldwork, qualitative interviewing, focus groups, and comparative case study analysis, with three focal communities who have already expressed support for the project-representing a range of traditional, hybrid, and tourism-based blue economies. In addition, this position will help co-design a workshop at the CoP annual meeting designed to share results, foster dialogue, and strategize new directions for today's changing coastal resilience context toward the end of the project.
The position will start in the Spring 2026, and the starting salary is $55,000. In addition, the position includes an annual research and travel budget to support fieldwork, professional development, and dissemination activities.
Responsibilities will include:
* Develop and implement a program evaluation protocol that constructively evaluates the impact, potential opportunities, and future directions of the Resilience CoP.
* Collaboratively refine and implement a robust qualitative multiple case study design based on Yin's methodology in three Gulf Coast Communities.

* Facilitate ongoing coordination with Resilience Extensionists and Gulf Resilience CoP members.

The candidate will lead the investigation in bioprospecting for filamentous algal species in the southeastern U.S. useful for cultivating at-scale for nutrient remediation and biomass production in wastewaters. The project goal is to identify candidate warm-water species of attached filamentous algae strains from selected watersheds in the southeastern U.S. states, especially Alabama and Georgia, and investigate their response to temperature, flow rate, and nutrient concentration in unialgal and mixed cultures in the laboratory. The research position is funded by a U.S. Department of Energy funding award focused on upscaling of filamentous algae cultivation for biomass production in regional climate conditions. Opportunities exist for the candidate to design and implement their own research in algae collection and in experiments related to filamentous algae culturing at various scales and in controlled environmental conditions. Contributions to grant proposal and research manuscript writing is expected and encouraged.

The Potnis Lab in the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology at Auburn University is seeking a highly motivated individual to provide professional research assistance in the area of computational biology.
The successful candidate will join a team of a research assistant, researchfellow, graduate students and undergraduate students, that contributes to multiple projects on plant-microbe interactions.
The successful candidate will work on a range of high-throughput sequencing data, such as genomics, transcriptomics, amplicon sequencing, and metagenomics for various ongoing projects and work collaboratively with the team members to advance the knowledge of plant-microbe interactions.
This is a two-year limited term position with the possibility of annual extensions depending on performance and funding.
Applicants must have a basic knowledge of microbial genetics and genomics, must have demonstrated ability to conduct high-throughput sequencing data analyses and must be able to interpret the data analyses. Applicants must be able to work both independently and with others within a research team and have excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
